...isn't it just encouraging fighting between posters, rather than just debating the subject up for discussion?

As well as driving me totally round the bend.

hmm

MiceElf Wed 23-Jul-14 09:30:27

Speaking of which, there is a brilliant new exhibition at the National Galkery called Making Colour. Highly recommended.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 23-Jul-14 09:31:49

HD, I don't expect you to be bothered. Why would you be?

I've already stopped reading yours. Too long and confusing.

Don't take it personally though. It's not that important. smile

annodomini Wed 23-Jul-14 09:38:55

I can't see anything pink around here.

HollyDaze Wed 23-Jul-14 09:39:31

I wish I could get to see it MiceElf. I used to run some basic science sessions at Beaver Scouts and one table dealt with chromatography - the children loved that and were fascinated that all is not always as it seems smile

I once worked for a professor of physiology and he was telling me once that women see more shades of colour than men do - maybe there's also a difference in the shades between women as well.

HollyDaze Wed 23-Jul-14 09:41:18

jbf - no offence taken.

Nonu Wed 23-Jul-14 09:48:07

The lines seem more lilac to me !!

Atqui Wed 23-Jul-14 09:48:57

I think it's a good idea cos it saves scrolling back.....e.g. Re your post of 23rd at 09.00 hours Granny X ...... Now what did Granny X say???...don't really mind who has written it either . As someone just said by the time you've done all that ,the discussion has moved on.

Atqui Wed 23-Jul-14 09:50:43

Not as infuriating as those nospacehashtags , or strike through.

glammanana Wed 23-Jul-14 09:51:37

Nonu I'm with you on the pink love it,all my kitchen stuff and plates are pink & black anyway how the devil are you after your last trip across the pond ? sorry jings my friend bit off topic grin

rosesarered Wed 23-Jul-14 09:58:40

Some forums enable you to click on a above posters remarks and then click again in your own posting 'box' and it all then appears there, in it's own neat little box within your box.Name, time, remarks. Wish this forum did the same.
It's a sort of dusky pink to me, not lilac.

Ana Wed 23-Jul-14 10:00:50

It's lilac to me. Pink is the background colour of the New Granny's Survival Guide advertised at the side.

Ana Wed 23-Jul-14 10:02:05

Oh, of course now it's changed to Tell us your Most Intimate Thoughts...hmm

GrannyTwice Wed 23-Jul-14 10:03:23

Oh I think #nospacehashtags and strikethroughs can be really amusing - J does a good line in them #beingnicetojingleday

GrannyTwice Wed 23-Jul-14 10:03:38

Ooohhhh- it worked!

glammanana Wed 23-Jul-14 10:08:08

Can someone tell me what a hashtag is for please ?

pompa Wed 23-Jul-14 10:48:06

a Hashtag is the # symbol used for to prefix twitter tags which enable searching.
So if you are in twitter and search for #Tiptree it will bring up all posts that have #Tiptree in their search tags.

Not sure that makes it clearer, go into Twitter and try searching for Tiptree and then #Tiptree, you should see the difference.

Nonu Wed 23-Jul-14 10:54:21

glam,

Devine darling , looking forward to the next one!

I have been back 5 weeks now and could say it is a distant memory , but of course it is not, as I am reading the diary he wrote, so it brings all the great adventures back!!

p.s

I have posted to you on Ebinburgh Castle post .

sunshine

penguinpaperback Wed 23-Jul-14 11:14:04

Oh, experiments, dusky pink to me.
canseewherethiscouldgetaddictive#
Sorry just had to try. flowers

Ana Wed 23-Jul-14 11:16:20

Now I'm at work, it looks dusky pink to me, too! Colours must look slightly different depending on what PC or other thingy you're using...confused

thatbags Wed 23-Jul-14 11:42:35

Faded magenta or maroon. <wonders what the difference is between magenta and maroon>. Stop making type marron, iPad! I know what marrons are and they aren't maroon. At least I've never seen and maroon ones

thatbags Wed 23-Jul-14 11:42:46

any

Soutra Wed 23-Jul-14 12:41:17

Hashtags are what we used to call "sharps" such as Haydn's Concerto in F hashtag # grin

annodomini Wed 23-Jul-14 12:47:33

I think the term used to be 'mauve'.

Galen Wed 23-Jul-14 13:04:05

Horrible colour anyway. Prefer the other place's blue

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 23-Jul-14 13:16:46

Grannytwice, you stop that right now.
