...isn't it just encouraging fighting between posters, rather than just debating the subject up for discussion?

As well as driving me totally round the bend.

hmm

Do HQ people make these odd interjections on MN? I've never seen any (not that I'm in there much...) - just wondering how they'd be received! tbgrin

Julie is just as addicted as the rest of us I reckon. smile

Well, if you start a thread in site stuff, we assume you'd like an answer of some sort. It may not necessarily be the one you wanted, but we will answer. And yes, MNHQ also pop onto the threads in site stuff over there. If you have a question about the site, site stuff is the place to ask it.

But...you didn't give the OP an answer, Julie...confused

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 24-Jul-14 22:29:39

That's not the reason! It's what I said! tbhmm tbgrin

Italics place an emphasis on a word, I think. It doesn't promote arguments, unless you're one of the feisty members that is wink

Was there a question? I can't remember. It was quite a long time ago. (the original post]

Ana Thu 24-Jul-14 22:33:58

It wasn't about italics being used for emphasis, Julie...hmm

(honestly, do they ever actually read the threads?)

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 24-Jul-14 22:34:40

Do you know how long it takes to do these fancy emotis? Especially when you've gone all through the suggestions predictive text throws up. tbhmm

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 24-Jul-14 22:35:51

But what's wrong with it? At least your posts are not... green! Rose is a wonderful colour. Would you rather it was... beige?

jinglbellsfrocks Thu 24-Jul-14 22:41:40

Go on Julie. Take sides. I dare you! grin

HollyDaze Thu 24-Jul-14 22:46:03

Err - a grin like you have to type in to get that particular emoticon (can we have a slap head smiley as well please)
