Apologies to thse of you who have been sending me messages! I do not get any form of notification so when I happened to look to see if GNHQ had sent me a message I found several unanswered (obviously) messages including one from GNHQ from a while back asking for my address so I can receive a signed copy of Jeremy Paxman's book!
Do you get a notification in your email or on the inbox icon to indicate someone has sent you a message? Do i need to adjust a setting? help please GNHQ

Well, you should just look at your 'inbox' more often and not rely on emails from GNHQ - simples!

I always get sent an email by them so then come onto the site and look at my inbox to read it.Having said that, I still haven't got the copy of Paxos book even though I sent my address.

Thank you Ana for your words of wisdom, kindly meant I am sure. However it is a change of practice as I had been getting notifications previously. I just assumed I had no messages!

Yes, you need to adjust a setting somewhere, Penstemmon I think it may be in your profile, but contact GNHQ if you can't find it.

i just looked at the settings and the 'receive email notification' was on confused

Crossed posts! I think other people had this problem a little while ago and got it sorted. Maybe yours went AWOL at the same time.

I thought you had to give your email address when you registered, and that is how GNHQ contact you

They have emailed me before..because I got notifications, then they apparently stopped in April as I have not looked at my inbox since then...because I had no notifications.

Someone PM me and i will see if it is fixed!

I can only get onto the site these days by going via my inbox and then clicking 'last hour'. Think my pooter must be on the blink sad.

I find notification of Pms etc go to my email inbox. As do posts of comments on Facebook .

Many thanks for your suggestion. We'll have a natter and see what we can sort out. If we could have a little time, what with it being the weekend and the rest of the staff being elsewhere, that would be grand. In the meantime, you could always check your inbox at the top smile brew

There's a solution to this one.

If you go into your 'My Gransnet' at the top of the page, you can switch on your email notifications (or switch them off if you don't want an email every time something jumps into your inbox).

Please yell if there's any problems sunshine
