Gransnet is on the look out for someone to come and work at GNHQ for the next six months on a paid internship (editorial)

Do pass on details to anyone you think may be interested. We're after a
bright, hardworking intern with a strong desire to learn, to join the editorial team.

This is a brilliant opportunity to work on the site and to gain skills and experience that will look fantastic on any CV. What's more, the company is always in the market for talented people - so there may be an opportunity for the right candidate to join us full-time at the end of the internship.

This is what people need to apply:

- sharp editorial judgement, with editorial experience preferred
- extraordinarily good written English, with impeccable spelling and grammar
- an ear for the 'tone' of our organisation
- great personal communication skills
- a positive attitude and an unflappable personality
- active knowledge of cms and all social media platforms
... and a good sense of humour

The role is full-time, office-based in north London.

To apply, please send a CV with covering letter to [email protected], by Friday 31 January.

I would absolutely LOVE to do it, but unfortunately it's a bit too far to commute!

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Wed 14-Jan-15 10:15:51

sad

dustyangel Wed 14-Jan-15 10:22:03

phoenix, I thought of you as I was reading the job description but realised it would be to far. I think you'd have excellent references. wink

Mishap Wed 14-Jan-15 10:25:26

What is the point of all this wonderful technology if you cannot do distance-working?

Anne58 Wed 14-Jan-15 10:27:16

Ah but you are forgetting one thing, Mishap!

Even though there are now such wonders as 3D printers, I don't think that distance working extends to cake! grin

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Wed 14-Jan-15 10:32:05

Got it in one Phoenix grin

Mishap - you are right in that technology does allow distance working to an extent - but there does need to be at least some time in the office to make it work in this case (we've tried and tested various ways)

dustyangel Wed 14-Jan-15 10:38:59

too. That would be me out of the running. grin

Mishap Wed 14-Jan-15 10:41:57

That is a shame - I have worked as picture editor and co-ordinator on a magazine and most of that was done from home - and that was a few years ago. Things have moved on since then technologically!

Virtual cake is good - not a bit fattening!

Anne58 Wed 14-Jan-15 10:48:47

grin dusty

A good point, Mishap but if you were working at home, who would tell you if you had virtual cake crumbs in your moustache?

Agus Wed 14-Jan-15 10:51:01

I thought of you immediately Phoenix. What a great pity the commute is too far.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 14-Jan-15 14:12:10

Oh! I so want to get my daughter out of teaching. I wonder if I could persuade her! She knows a lot about Facebook and Twitter. (hmm)

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 14-Jan-15 14:14:18

"extraordinarily good written English, with impeccable spelling and grammar"

Why am I laughing? grin

Elegran Wed 14-Jan-15 14:26:03

If I lived in London I would jump at this, but commuting from here is a no-no.

gillybob Wed 14-Jan-15 14:39:34

I do not have one single qualification for this post. shock

gillybob Wed 14-Jan-15 14:40:21

Well maybe the sense of humour bit. smile

merlotgran Wed 14-Jan-15 16:51:03

I would love to demonstrate my sharp editorial judgement by spending a day on the delete button!

What larks grin

Anne58 Wed 14-Jan-15 18:20:13

Anyway, my posts show that I do not always have " extraordinarily good written English, with impeccable spelling and grammar"

Plus I had to Google (other search engines are available) to see what "cms" was blush

May as well hide it in here, had another interview yesterday, followed by a "thanks, but no thanks" email this morning sad

Never mind phoenix, something will turn up. smile flowers
