We are delighted to bring you - by special request - one Sunday (or any other day) dinner roastchicken roastchicken roastchicken roastchicken roastchicken

And before anyone asks - it is suitable for ALL dietary needs. It is gluten free, dairy free AND it's fine for vegetarians (it's actually a tofu chicken)

Thank you for the new emoticon!! roastchickenwine

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Tue 10-Feb-15 11:19:26

Don't laugh - my brother was served a tofu turkey in America. (A Tofurkey!)

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Tue 10-Feb-15 11:19:49

But meat eaters are welcome to enjoy the non veggie version.

We finished Sunday's roastchicken yesterday. Is it wrong that this thread makes me fancy a Tuesday Roast?

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 10-Feb-15 11:49:20

It's a really nice chicken. It's not tofu! it's juicy and succulent and it had a very happy little life roaming free in a sunny field. smile

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 10-Feb-15 11:50:25

Tofu indeed! hmm

wink

janerowena Tue 10-Feb-15 12:25:49

Can I have a tofu cow please? And a sheep?

Yes, it does look like a happy chicken. It's a bit small, though. hmm

Nelliemoser Tue 10-Feb-15 12:47:50

It would be much better to get a chicken shaped mould and put a nut roast in it.

ninathenana Tue 10-Feb-15 13:06:53

For heavens sake it's a picture! grin grin

Thank you GN

I want a vacuum cleaner one now. A virtuous looking vacuum cleaner.

hildajenniJ Tue 10-Feb-15 13:52:32

DH and I have just finished a very lovely plate of sweet and sour [roast chicken] and rice. I made plenty for three because I thought that my DS was coming for lunch. So there is plenty left for supper.

hildajenniJ Tue 10-Feb-15 13:54:39

Oh my roastchicken didn't work. The hudl has a habit of correcting everything.

kittylester Tue 10-Feb-15 14:01:04

I'd really like a halo emoticon! I think it would really suit me!!!

jinglbellsfrocks Tue 10-Feb-15 14:13:11

We could have a vacuum cleaner with a halo. smile

Oh yeah! I have to have a gluten free diet and can't cope with much lactose and I have problems with bakers yeast too. Due to gluten sensitive enteropathy etc. I have had this for a good few years now and was wondering are there many other Grans on here with this dietary problem? I find it difficult eating out as my tummy is very sensitive and I have to be so careful or it gets upset then it takes days to behave itself again!

nannieroz111 Tue 10-Feb-15 16:04:26

Hi rascal. Have you been in touch with Coeliac UK? The have an excellent little food directory which I found invaluable.

rascal Tue 10-Feb-15 16:52:30

Oh yes I am a member of Coeliac UK. The Food & Drink Directory is great. Still waiting on the 2015 edition though. I contacted them last month and was advised it will be sent out this month so it will be good when it arrive. I like to read what's available on Prescription to see if there is anything new I can try! Although it's up to the GP to decide if he will prescribe it or not. I wanted Pizza bases last year and was told that the NHS in my area won't prescribe them. Anyway it doesn't matter I just thought of trying them as it was Christmas time. How do you find a gluten free diet nannierox111? Have you been on it for a while? My tummy never settles for very long and I have to be so careful. It's certainly a good way to keep slim!

nannieroz111 Tue 10-Feb-15 18:32:59

Hi rascal. I am not coeliac so I have never had to eat a gluten free diet. (I have tried several gf products though). I used to cater for someone who was on a gluten free diet, so became aware of all the products that are available. I found Genius seeded bread was a particular favourite, however it is not available on prescription smile
