We had shamrocks, didn't we? And I think we had daffodils (can't quite remember)

So, why no Dragon?

Or Lions perhaps.

mollie65 Thu 23-Apr-15 07:43:19

quite agree
if you read some other forums the English are not supposed to celebrate their 'Englishness' shock
I am proud to be English - with a smidgeon of Italian and Welsh and Cornish

WE are encouraged to celebrate the saints of Scotland, Wales and Ireland, so why not England ?

annodomini Thu 23-Apr-15 08:29:01

We didn't have the saltire for St Andrews Day. I am shocked that there's no recognition of St George.

Pittcity Thu 23-Apr-15 08:32:27

I'll raise a cup of tea to England and St George brew

Teetime Thu 23-Apr-15 09:01:29

Indeed happy st Georges day. The golf club have a St Georges day lunch today - I suggested the Roast Beef of Olde England but they have gone for sausages in a big Yorkshire pudding!!

NfkDumpling Thu 23-Apr-15 10:09:38

Didn't we have a dragon once before - a little red one - for Wales? Or did I imagine it?

Anniebach Thu 23-Apr-15 10:12:15

I thought the English emblem was a rose?

pompa Thu 23-Apr-15 10:14:59

A rose could start a war, Red or White ? White for me.

mollie65 Thu 23-Apr-15 15:41:22

Ana Thu 23-Apr-15 15:44:51

rosequartz Thu 23-Apr-15 15:51:25

mollie65 Thu 23-Apr-15 16:16:42

rosesarered Thu 23-Apr-15 20:56:20

I'm not happy with all these red Welsh dragons, coming over 'ere and taking all our green dragons jobs!

rosequartz Fri 24-Apr-15 20:02:46

I was going to post that perhaps it's a picture of the dragon after St George has done his stuff, but thought that could be
(a) too gruesome for some
(b) contentious

grin

rosesarered Fri 24-Apr-15 20:03:59

We ladies may faint clean away Rose!

rosequartz Fri 24-Apr-15 20:06:13

I am trying to patch up the dragon, they are an endangered species wink

rosesarered Fri 24-Apr-15 20:08:01

And yet there are THREE in Game Of Thrones, explain that!

rosequartz Fri 24-Apr-15 20:11:27

I haven't seen that, although DS watches it!
(is it on Sky? That could explain it)

rosesarered Fri 24-Apr-15 20:13:51

Yes, it's on Sky like most of the good stuff.
