As so many people now access the site on a phone or tablet, and to keep up with the modern world grin we're making Gransnet all lovely and mobile friendly. It will mean a few tweaks, as you can imagine, but we hope to bring you a test version very soon so that you can tell us what you like, what you like a bit less, and what you love (of course) - and this will all help us make the end version as fantastic as possible.

Now as part of this we're looking to streamline our forum topics a little - mainly to avoid people having to scroll for several days to find what they want grin

We are NOT getting rid of anything (and we are not getting rid of any threads!) but we are looking at merging a few topics and amalgamating a few that get less traffic into other areas. All to make it easier for use of course - but if you have strong feelings about anything now's the time to let us know.

Please GNHQ, i haven't logged on for a couple of days and not only have my bookmarks gone I'm getting the strange chinese symbols, and even worse the little ads at the top of the page are showing chinese and thai dating sites. I have been trying to block them but they keep coming back. Help!

Lara I'm just saying........ And now I've discovered that when I click on the link for soop's photos, it says 'back to top' and that's yer lot! hmm

We haven't forgotten, promise. Will chase up on those peculiar Chinese symbols Nina...
Lona, it's not quite finished and those little tweaks are on tech's list. But you might find that the site is easier to navigate using the desktop setting if you're on a tablet?

I'm wondering if the mobile site is now 'finished' ? Using my phone it looks fine, but on my tablet (Hudl2), it still doesn't have any symbols on the pink circles, and still has the squares to click on for bookmarking, not the 3 dots.

I was looking for a thread about knitting and clicked on Arts and Crafts. The discussion threads on that forum are exactly the same as on Culture/Arts....and nothing about knitting.

Only just tried the new app. What a faff going in and out of 'active' to surf which threads you want to look at. 'Last Hour' works best for me - I can see it all at a glance. Why isn't it on the app, GNHQ?

I now go straight to the desktop option on my android, its so much easier than the mobile version, because of the lack of the last hour option.

I agree yoga the last hour button was always my first port of call sad

I'm using my iPad now as my mobile isn't so user friendly now it's all changed.
