I am putting this on a seperate thread...

...as bitching on a very sensitive thread is not a good idea.

a) I have already explained my position on the thread in question.

b) Nothing wrong with my arguments. Bloody sight more sensible than some on here. And they don't come from up my backside, being as my head isn't there. Unlike some.

No soontobe not you. I am now very confused. confused

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 01-Jul-15 11:57:19

You and I Tegan are a totally separate, and different, thing altogether. smile

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 01-Jul-15 11:57:50

Have some of my cupcake. Mwah!

Brendawymms Wed 01-Jul-15 12:02:32

Maybe I should make a double size coffee cake with chocolate icing and send it through the ether to everyone. wink

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 01-Jul-15 12:03:40

Actually, add walnuts, and make it coffee icing. Thank you. smile

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 01-Jul-15 12:04:08

And don't forget to put walnuts on top.

soontobe Wed 01-Jul-15 12:05:02

You and me both Brendawymms! smile

POGS Wed 01-Jul-15 12:13:19

Even current threads look like we need a 'Here we go again' emoticon.

Greenfinch Wed 01-Jul-15 12:21:52

What a peculiar thread ! It's all about nothing (of any importance ).

Now I wait for someone to tell me I am wrong (and it is about something ).

That's what usually happens. confused

Walnuts are much too expensive.
I joined Gransnet three + years ago when I needed some advice and a listening ear on a difficult time. I got that advice and comfort from many Gransnetters.
I nearly left shortly after that as there was a very vitriolic thread running with, what appeared many personal attacks, eventually some were given the red card and disappeared.
There have been many occasions when the empathy shown by GNers has been truly outstanding but also other times when the bitchiness truly awful.
Yes we should be able to express our sentiments freely but there is also the need to respect others opinions without personal comments, or comments taken to be personal. In some debates recently, in my opinion, a line has been crossed. In this I agree with the original poster.
A little light interlude within a thread is also ok. I feel the need also to add that I am not pointing any finger at anyone and if you think a finger is being pointed I wonder why.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 01-Jul-15 13:25:04

Meanie! shock

rosesarered Wed 01-Jul-15 15:11:57

Greenfinch, you are correct, it is about nothing, in fact just a lot of hot air.I agree with POGS, there is too much ' poor little me' on a lot of threads.

rosesarered Wed 01-Jul-15 15:12:56

Soontobe why are you constantly reporting threads?

rosesarered Wed 01-Jul-15 15:13:26

is it the heat?

if you can't see just how wrong this is- then there is little hope, heat or no-heat! sad

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 01-Jul-15 15:54:13

Oh FFS granjura. You really want a fight don't you?

Read a book. Or something. hmm Pathetic.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 01-Jul-15 15:55:02

And the sad face is laughable. grin

TriciaF Wed 01-Jul-15 15:55:23

Since I joined (? Oct.2013) I haven't seen arguments on here that upset me - most people can fend for themselves.
What I don't like (seen it elsewhere) is when a particularly strong person attracts a following group, and then they all attack any opposition. Someone recently mentioned leader of a coven.
Up to now, I haven't seen that on here.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 01-Jul-15 15:59:15

What I said, hours ago this morning, was relevant to stuff being posted elsewhere, at that time.

I am not going to give anyone the pleasure of spinning it out further.

petallus Wed 01-Jul-15 15:59:48

The posts on this thread are rather obscure because, rightly I suppose, names are not being named.

However, as others have suggested, snarky comments, often from a double act, can be wearing to read even if you are not the intended target.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 01-Jul-15 16:02:26

No good anyone following me. They would soon find themselves up the proverbial gum tree. Where I seem to permanently reside. hmm

petallus Wed 01-Jul-15 16:02:28

BTW, soontobe I am annoyed that you took it upon yourself to report the Tunisia thread to HQ. What were you trying to achieve?

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 01-Jul-15 16:03:01

How is beautiful South Wales petallus?

petallus Wed 01-Jul-15 16:06:51

It's lovely thanks jbf.

The cottage is great. Thanks for the cottage company info BTW.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 01-Jul-15 16:10:04

Would love to be in that neck of the woods right now. Have to wait till end of August though. Sigh!
