...as bitching on a very sensitive thread is not a good idea.

a) I have already explained my position on the thread in question.

b) Nothing wrong with my arguments. Bloody sight more sensible than some on here. And they don't come from up my backside, being as my head isn't there. Unlike some.

Well I succeeded which is more than can be said for you and feel very virtuous! smile

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 03-Jul-15 18:38:10

Thank goodness! I was going to have to ask Soutra to explain, as I'd already forgotten...

Your first post on this thread included the comment ..........

"Nothing wrong with my arguments. Bloody sight more sensible than some on here. And they don't come from up my backside, being as my head isn't there."

When some people were upset your comment might be directed at them, you said it was my post that had "riled" you, which was:

"If you have to resort to insulting those with whom you disagree then it seems to me you don't have much confidence in your ability to present a coherent and sensible argument."

Given that you thought my remark was "bloody toffee-nosed rubbish" which had come from up my backside, I'm not quite sure why you didn't say it to me directly at the time.

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 04-Jul-15 09:29:31

Well, I was hardly going to put it on the Tunisia thread was I? confused

Eloethan Sat 04-Jul-15 10:42:50

Why not? After all, it was you that said:

"and Saint Anniebach pops up again! grin"

Elegran Sat 04-Jul-15 10:58:51

Oh, stow it, the pair lot of you. Why clutter up the site with days, yes days, of to-and-fro "its your fault" and "you started it"? Either call it a draw or arrange a meet-up somewhere equidistant and square up behind the bikesheds.

thatbags Sat 04-Jul-15 11:02:06

elegran smile

sunseeker Sat 04-Jul-15 12:15:46

Well said Elegran I am all for a spirited debate but the insults are not necessary. Once a thread descends to name calling I usually stop reading it only dipping in occasionally to see if sanity has been restored!

Eloethan Sat 04-Jul-15 13:59:33

I haven't insulted anybody.

Elegran Sat 04-Jul-15 14:17:05

Saying loudly that "It wisnae me" is still contributing to keeping the fight going.

granjura Sat 04-Jul-15 17:38:32

Exactly Eloethan- and the only thing to do is to keep away from GN as long as this nasty nonsense goes on. Only came back to respond to some pm's saying the same.

Good advice which I'm going to take also [being confused as to why 'bitching' on a thread is 'bad' but 'calling' someone a bitch is acceptable confused. #doublestandards confusedconfused....

Ana Sat 04-Jul-15 22:03:05

That's a ridiculous statement. Since when has calling someone a bitch on here been acceptable?

Katek Sun 05-Jul-15 00:23:22

Sorry....am off on a sidetrack here, but keep giggling about references to 'HQ' or 'Headquarters.' I'm visualising a sort of Dad's Army or General Melchett, Captain Blackadder et al down in the trenches. Either that or lots of jolly hockey sticks, ample bosomed Guide leaders.

So sorry Cari, Lucy-I'm sure you're all lovely and nothing like the above, it's just something about the word 'headquarters'.

Now GN Central .............

Katek Sun 05-Jul-15 00:24:10

'And if I don't come back Ginger, you can have my egg'

Marelli Sun 05-Jul-15 07:20:12

Or, as Lance-Corporal Jones would say, 'H-quarters-Q'!
A bit of lightheartedness, now.....? wink

Alea Sun 05-Jul-15 10:09:38

Can I have your cupcake ?

jinglbellsfrocks Sun 05-Jul-15 10:12:33

Oi! Stop bumping me flippin' spelling mistake! hmm
