I realised yesterday, that Gransnet are getting new members, at the very rough figure of 150 per month. Through the Bookclub and Competitions topics.

I presume that once people register, not that many deregister.

Hardly any of those join the talking part of the site, but I guess that that doesnt matter.

Alea Sat 04-Jul-15 20:30:07

Thank you, I think that is clear confused

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 04-Jul-15 20:29:25

It's just a paler shade of green!

Ana Sat 04-Jul-15 20:17:58

Where it says Gransnet forums and search forums on the right is green.

The customise bar is definitely duck egg blue! grin Or aquamarine...

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 04-Jul-15 20:13:31

You want to me to do a 'Dear GNHQ' and ask 'em?

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 04-Jul-15 20:12:46

It's green!!! shock

Ana Sat 04-Jul-15 20:11:40

Duck egg blue is how I see it...

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 04-Jul-15 20:09:49

Click on 'customise' in the green bar, and you will see what I mean.

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 04-Jul-15 20:09:02

Alea grin

Sorry to confuse. When you click on 'customise' it gives you the choice of viewing threads with latest post showing first, or the original post showing first. They call it 'reading direction'.

soontobe Sat 04-Jul-15 19:16:11

I think so!

Alea Sat 04-Jul-15 19:13:29

smile Thank you. Am I right way up?

soontobe Sat 04-Jul-15 19:11:58

We can change it to a thread for new members. No problem at all.

Welcome! Nice to meet you!
I will leave jingl to explain about the which way up bit.

NanKate Sat 04-Jul-15 19:06:06

We haven't heard anything from PapaOscar for about 6 months. I presume the worst, hope I am wrong.

Alea Sat 04-Jul-15 19:02:04

Is this a thread for new members? Confused about "which way up" I am meant to view threads -mind boggles.

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 04-Jul-15 17:38:07

The trouble with de-registering is, you can no longer choose which way up you view the threads. You have to keep flipping 'em.

Ana Sat 04-Jul-15 17:33:55

I don't mean just those who post on the forums, but those who regularly use the website for whatever purpose.

Ana Sat 04-Jul-15 17:32:49

I wonder how many of those who leave in shock-horror disgust or just out of boredom actually bother to deregister though?

They'd presumably still be counted as members, as will all the compers, so it must be extremely difficult to calculate the number of active members.

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 04-Jul-15 17:17:42

Quoting Lona "I wonder how many 'new joiners' leave after reading a few of the current threads?"

Nah! I bet the cranky threads bring 'em in in shed loads. #humannature

soontobe Sat 04-Jul-15 16:27:10

ninathenana Sat 04-Jul-15 16:20:25

soon you have posted 15 times on this thread at a rough calculation. smile
