Hi, GrannyGear.
Good questions
Facebook is another social media tool, you search for people who you know, like family and friends, so you can keep in touch with them.
It's free to join, and if you want to, you sign in at the top (where it says sign up in the green box). Once you've signed up, you can search for friends or family members, you then send them a friends request (and they can send them to you too). Once they have accepted your request their posts (pictures, comments about what they have been doing, sometimes general rants) appear on your 'Home' page (this is the page where you can see everything from your friends and family). You can also 'like' business pages (ie, the Gransnet page), so you can see our posts on your main 'Home' page, and you can post comments to us also. You can see our facebook page without joining, but you won't be able to post on there; www.facebook.com/gransnet/
You can do lots on there, like play games or join groups, but you don't have to. It's just an excellent way to keep in touch with family and friends who you may not have the chance to see too often.
