Over the last few days, when I have loaded a thread page to read it, an error message has come up and the page has had to be reloaded. It's rather irritating.

I have recently been getting "script error" messages only in Gransnet pages. I have not seen in so many today but it was dreadful last week.

Groan. It has started again this morning. Off to clear cache.

And, let's face it, high traffic is good!

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 11-Apr-16 10:44:13

Not happening at the moment Lucy. I'm convinced it's just high traffic. Not that I know a thing about it! smile

Glad it's been sorted for you Granny23 and thatbags - but still strange that you should have to clear that before being able to post...I'll follow up with tech anyway and maybe they can do something with the info.

jingl that sounds like the Google message that comes up when the page isn't displaying - are you still getting it this morning?

I find that quite often a thread just closes down altogether and quietly closes Gransnet website. Very annoying when trying to read a riveting argument discussion. I removed GN from favourites then re favourited it. That helped for a while.

It could be because of high traffic on Gransnet. smile

I can't do screen shots. Please don't ask! blush]

I keep getting a page that says, "Aw snap! We are having trouble displaying that page"

thatbags Thu 07-Apr-16 18:14:30

Likewise. It hasn't happened since I cleared my browser 'history'.

Granny23 Thu 07-Apr-16 17:36:12

Hi Lucy I am using my desk top computer, but have to report that I tried deleting the 'Cache' as suggested by NandG and my problem seems to have been resolved. Thank you for your concern.

LucyGransnet (GNHQ) Thu 07-Apr-16 17:07:45

Granny23 could you let me know what device you're browsing on? Is it an iPad, like thatbags?

thatbags it could be a compatibility issue, especially since there's just been a software update (theirs, not ours) but couldn't say for sure until tech give us a clue. Will report back as soon as they do!

NanaandGrampy Thu 07-Apr-16 08:51:03

no problem, I'm experiencing issues with Chrome at the moment so I know how frustrating technology can be when its off in a world of its own smile

thatbags Thu 07-Apr-16 07:59:29

No. I'll try that today, nandg. Thank you.

NanaandGrampy Wed 06-Apr-16 23:08:41

Have you tried deleting your cache Thatbags . That might clear the issue because you will be downloading the site afresh afterwards?

Granny23 Wed 06-Apr-16 20:16:53

Only just seen this thread and it has taken me 3 shots to get to the end to post. I have also been having problems for the last 3 days, but getting a different error message = 'Gransnet is not responding'. Like Bags the problem seems to be only with Gransnet. I am wondering if it is because Gransnet is maybe operating on Windows 10 now, whilst I have been unable to upgrade?

Crafting Wed 06-Apr-16 19:42:02

thatbags I use an iPad to access gransnet. Never had this problem. Don't know if that's any help or not. Sorry you're having problems.

thatbags Wed 06-Apr-16 19:36:36

Last two messages were on a different computer. No probs till I got back on iPad.

DH thinks it might be that you haven't tested the Gransnet site on iOS & might be a Java script thing.

I'll also try restarting this iPad.

thatbags Wed 06-Apr-16 19:31:40

and agin

thatbags Wed 06-Apr-16 19:31:27

testing another machine

thatbags Wed 06-Apr-16 17:49:57

Righto, even!

thatbags Wed 06-Apr-16 17:49:38

Roghto. Odd that it's only the Gransnet site affected by it if it's my computer.

LucyGransnet (GNHQ) Wed 06-Apr-16 17:38:02

Thanks thatbags, we'll pass these onto tech and see what they can find out. From the sounds of it, it could be something to do with your computer, as we haven't had any other reports if this problem, but it may well be that they can suggest something!

thatbags Wed 06-Apr-16 17:03:48

Twice and then twice again after I posted the first two pics.
