You warned me that the next time I was reported you would bar me. I have just had a post deleted.

Time to click?

obieone Thu 06-Oct-16 10:13:10

I am beginning to think that jingls is back under a new name.

And it doesnt look like GN are going to comment anytime soon never

Ana Thu 06-Oct-16 10:15:31

Obieone I think you're wrong about jingl bein back (and why on earth should she have to 'tone it down'?}

merlotgran Thu 06-Oct-16 10:21:37

But I do think she needs to tone it down a bit.

obie. Every time jingl has returned after being shoved on the Norty Step, she's been a toned down version of the original. She can't tone herself down any more and you shouldn't expect her to.

Gransnet is now beginning to feel like a day centre for the elderly. angry

Wobblybits Thu 06-Oct-16 10:25:23

I don't think it is possible for someone like Jings to be anything other than what she is, warts and all. (Jings, if you have real warts, we want you for the Panto)
I have tried to conform to a less cheeky(some say sexist) me, but it doesn't last long because that's how I am in real life.

obieone Thu 06-Oct-16 10:26:35

If she doesnt tone it down, she would be gone again Ana.

merlotgran, what was she like in the olden days! grin

Her choice if she comes back?
Or is GN keeping a close lookout?

Or are they asking her to come back and tone down and she refuses?

obieone Thu 06-Oct-16 10:27:52

If she has been banned several times, perhaps this really is the end sad

Ana Thu 06-Oct-16 10:31:59

You seem to be missing the point, Obieone.

Jingl shouldn't have to tone it down because she shouldn't have been banned in the first place. I wouldn't blame her if she was disheartened.

obieone Thu 06-Oct-16 10:38:32

But she is and was and will be presumably.

Comes down to GN and their rules and all that.

obieone Thu 06-Oct-16 10:49:08

I dont remember, but I will go back and look merlotgran.

obieone Thu 06-Oct-16 10:50:09

No stirring by the way.

obieone Thu 06-Oct-16 10:50:47

Is it bad pm and gn etiquette to mention pms?

Ana Thu 06-Oct-16 10:51:05

You seem very sure about that.

Tegan Thu 06-Oct-16 10:52:27

I think it's wrong to disclose the content of PMS no matter what the reason for it.

Ana Thu 06-Oct-16 10:52:45

(Thaat was in reply to Obieone's post of 10.38 BTW!)

obieone Thu 06-Oct-16 10:57:26

I agree Tegan!

Imagine if everyone did that!

I have looked back at the pm merlotgran, and I was trying to help jingl.

Happy to copy and paste that pm here. If you want? More than happy.

obieone Thu 06-Oct-16 10:58:50

I could even copy and paste your reply hmm

merlotgran Thu 06-Oct-16 11:00:27

There's no need for that, obie.

When has jingl ever needed anyone's help? grin

obieone Thu 06-Oct-16 11:00:40

The pm was in March this year btw, so not exactly when I first appeared on the threads!

wot Thu 06-Oct-16 11:01:12

PMS should be private. It's breaking someone's trust otherwise.

obieone Thu 06-Oct-16 11:03:09

We have helped each other merlotgran several times. As well as disagreed with each other, several times! Which jingl would happily agree with. thatbags can ask her if she wants.

Ana Thu 06-Oct-16 11:03:29

How long have you had your current username, Obieone?

glassortwo Thu 06-Oct-16 11:04:09

AGEISM is exactly what is happening here.angry

When someone becomes a grandparent why is it thought that we turn into shy, retiring, knitting. beige wearing individuals that need protected. Well certainly NOT the GNetters I have met!!!

We are not shrinking violets, and if you dont like a thread then look for another there are plenty of bland boring threads on here at the moment!!!! jingle has toned down so much she cant do any more and all these people reporting should have been here from the first and seen jingle at her best!!!

Mumsnetters wouldnt stand for this treatment from HQ.

Cari Lara could we please have some feedback from you about this please.

I have spoken to JIngle and have passed on the messages from the threads, Jingle passes on her thanks but is feeling that GNHQ have closed the matter.

Lots more I want to say but have to leave to collect the youngest from pre school.

Elegran Thu 06-Oct-16 11:04:13

obieone You are a person who loves rules and believes in everyone sticking to them all. We know that as you have said so.
But you have to ask :-

Who is making these rules in the first place?

What is the purpose of this rule or that one? Do they improve things or are they arbitrary and 'because I say so'?

What is the purpose and policy of the organisation where the rules apply? Is it to encourage discussion or to provide a safe place for the timid, or both? How can that be achieved with a mixed and unvetted membership?

Is there a difference between the letter of the law and the spirit of the law?

And a whole lot of other points.

Tegan Thu 06-Oct-16 11:06:27

Hang on a minute; isn't there a bit of ganging up on a poster going on here. obieone is as entitled to her opinion as everyone else on the forum is she not?
