Just like the tokes of the seventies, may I say. Of course I have no actual experience of the smoking such stuff.

wot Tue 11-Oct-16 17:31:12

My dear!!! How very ghastly!

wot Tue 11-Oct-16 17:32:44

Well, that's a posh word, no? Or maybe should have written dahling?

wot Tue 11-Oct-16 17:34:15

Just working my way through honey and mustard chicken and a mountain of sprouts.hope they're no organic!

wot Tue 11-Oct-16 17:37:52

The "darling" was meant to portray the preciousness of passing the port. (Or even of owning port)

trisher Tue 11-Oct-16 17:42:12

I remember someone once telling me port and lemon was 'a tart's drink'

Jalima Tue 11-Oct-16 17:43:47

grin
I used to enjoy a port and lemon shock
It had to be bitter lemon

wot Tue 11-Oct-16 17:43:57

Yes, it was "common". Where did I get the idea that it was "posh"?

Jalima Tue 11-Oct-16 17:44:18

bitter lemons are quite tart - do you think that's what they meant?

Alima Tue 11-Oct-16 17:45:08

Thought that was gin trisher.
Wot, be like the trumpet voluntary round yours tonight. What made me think of Blazing Saddles?

wot Tue 11-Oct-16 17:45:50

I wouldn't say no to it

Wobblybits Tue 11-Oct-16 17:46:14

Ok I won't use the S word, but organic mushrooms are still grown in the rotting faeces of Equus ferus caballus (that's horse S... )
Just about to fry some now.

Jalima Tue 11-Oct-16 17:46:30

Don't mention gin .....

Jalima Tue 11-Oct-16 17:49:17

A standard measure of port, and make up to 250 ml with Bitter lemon, and a slice. Not lemonade

Wobblybits Tue 11-Oct-16 17:49:24

"port and lemon was 'a tart's drink'" That's what Mrs P drank when I first met her. But there's a thought, she was only 16 hmm

Jalima Tue 11-Oct-16 17:50:25
