Why are we still having trouble posting messages? Preview, or Post message, just greys out and nothing happens

I'm getting quite narked now! Every time I want to post, even in the same "session" IYKWIM, I keep getting told that I have to log in!

I AM logged in, for heavens sake! So, I then have to log out then log back in.

Grrrrrr.

Iam64 Fri 04-Nov-16 18:53:27

testing again

Iam64 Fri 04-Nov-16 18:53:57

the suggestion about right clicking, copying and pasting just made me come over all anti technology.

Lazigirl Fri 04-Nov-16 20:20:36

Am so pissed off with trying to post several times today. Instructions given no use to iPad users, so am going off for a few weeks and hope it gets fixed as it's raising my bp.

Lazigirl Fri 04-Nov-16 20:21:25

It's actually gone thro now. May be its just the political threads!!!

phoenix Fri 04-Nov-16 23:55:02

Let's try this one...

phoenix Fri 04-Nov-16 23:55:42

Oh, actually seemed to work!

phoenix Sat 05-Nov-16 00:04:58

No, back to saying that I need to log in even when I already am! angry

Iam64 Sat 05-Nov-16 09:06:57

Why can I post here but not anywhere else?

Iam64 Sat 05-Nov-16 09:09:43

It seems as long as I write briefly, I can post. Lesson there? smile

Testing that theory

Hi folks!

We think we are making headway with this (...she says).

The tech team think that some of you might be using outdated versions of iOS and Safari, which could well be the reason why you're having trouble posting. They tested it out on older versions and were having the same problem, but each time they used the latest version of both, things seemed to work fine.

Would you all be able check the versions of iOS and Safari you're using please? You can find the version of Safari (if, in fact, you are using Safari) here: whatversion.net/safari

Thanks!

It was my 'work' apple that I was having problems with and not there again until Monday but it is a new one - about 3 months old - and I keep it updated.

Nandalot Sat 05-Nov-16 17:47:49

I am on
Safari 9.

I find that if I restyle my name , which has gone faint, in the user box, I can post.

Nandalot Sat 05-Nov-16 17:48:14

Retype

not restyle,

Lazigirl Sat 05-Nov-16 19:28:56

I tried that Nandalot and it works. Are we becoming invisible in old age??

Lazigirl Sat 05-Nov-16 19:30:08

Mind you, may be coincidence. Trying without retyping this time.

Lazigirl Sat 05-Nov-16 19:30:47

Yep. It makes no difference......

annsixty Sat 05-Nov-16 19:59:41

I am not tech savvy but I am having problems posting on a new laptop which uses Windows 10. On my older kindle fire I am fine and can post.

Lazigirl Sat 05-Nov-16 20:26:24

How come can post on this thread and nowhere else?

Auntieflo Sat 05-Nov-16 20:29:51

Yep, it seems to be fine posting on this site, but on others, if you type a long message, it won't go through. But if I cut, exit , return , paste, it will go. Let's see now.

Auntieflo Sat 05-Nov-16 20:31:37

Phoenix, the Logging in thing is also random

NanKate Sun 06-Nov-16 06:09:32

It has just taken 4 goes to post on another thread hmm

It's lucky I have recently learned to copy and paste on my IPad

janeainsworth Sun 06-Nov-16 08:42:56

I am still having problems Lara.
I've just looked at whatversion.net and it says this

"Note: on the iPhone all standard software is bundled together. This means that you do not have to worry about the Safari version since it is updated with each new version of the operating system."

I always update my phone whenever a new IOS comes out.

Over to you.

This morning I tried to post from my Ipad, and it would go. Swithched to my ASUS, and it worked first time,
