What's happened to the Welcom to New Members Thread?

It's a term used on all internet forums, not just GN, and means a prioritized or pinned thread.

There are usually three or four at the top of the Active list but sometimes the New Members one seems to disappear!

I have been a member from the start and have never heard of a sticky thread!

It's back at the top now, shysal - it shouldn't slip off the Active page as it's supposed to be a sticky thread, but it does seem to disappear for no reason sometimes!

I keep the welcome thread on my 'watching' list and try to reply to all newcomers who post. I wouldn't want them to feel ignored. Obviously if it isn't used for a few days it will slip off the current active list. I have noticed a lot of new names on GN recently, and most just introduce themselves on any thread they join. There is no rule that says they must announce their arrival!

Charleygirl may I just add that if Marnie is using the mobile site things are different.
To send a pm you need to touch on the three dots at the bottom of a persons post and select pm.
To start a thread go to the list of forums and select a heading. Scroll to the bottom of the heading page and select new thread

I joined recently and don't understand how to use the site. I have added to a thread or two but they don't always post. I now just read the days "what we are talking about today" and move on. It is such a shame I don't know if I can start thread. There must be more going on then just the daily email ????
