A Badge

I think there would be tough competition on the politics threads!

We could earn badges for comments on certain threads, a bit like old guides....

The politics badge, the gardening badge, the big mouth know it all badge, the cookery badge, the medical knowledge badge...... The possibilities at endless and some of us would need to have special sashes to display our vast array of badges

What Scots Grans will do for a free biro..... I actually fancied a Gransnet cup and saucer or mug ( not that you could wave that about either) how about a silk scarf?

Some grans might...erm...miss a tiny enamel pin! Can't go around peering at other women's chests in public placces!

Well you could hardly wiggle a biro at every unsuspecting person over 50 you see now could you? I didn't even know they existed.

An enamel pin would be nice but not a silly badge (please?)

I think katek got funding from a sponsor who commissioned the biros. Its an option open to other meet ups.
The biros were in party bags of goodies begged from sponsors by intrepid Grans.

A badge for me please. I don't always have a handbag with me.
The GN biros we got at the Scottish meet up last year were lovely...

No I don't have my handbag when volunteering - but I could hang a dingle dangle on my volunteer badge. I think I'd prefer a dangler please GN.

Never thought of a dingle dangle - good idea, kitty. Only thing is, would it only work if you were carrying a handbag, and maybe NfK doesn't when she is volunteering? If we had a GN dangler, I would, of course, have to have a new handbag to put it on...... yes, very good idea, kitty!

When I was a member of (the now defunct) Bad Mothers Club, we had a very discreet enamel badge, it was in the shape of a martini glass with a dummy in it

Better idea than secret handshake! That could lead to all sorts of kerfuffles.

Or a dingle dangle. Perhaps a choice. Although that may lead to merchandising with t-shirts, mugs and tea towels.

I find badges and pins a pain. I forget to swap them. A dingle dangle for my handbag (like Radley Dog) would-be preferable for me.

We agreed to have a badge on our fishing forum. It's a very nice silver and blue enamel jobby and part of the proceeds from each one went to a cancer charity. So far, I have yet to meet anyone who else who either sports one, or recognises it, but it doesn't matter because the charity did very well out of it.
I suppose a badge would be useful for meet ups, superseding the white carnation and rolled up copy of the Times as a means of recognition

Um, probably not but it isn't a silly idea, especially as you meet a lot of people. Much better than the old bicycle clip on one leg like the secret ones. (Often wondered about their silly handshake too, how do they know the other person is one of them?)
