We're thinking a strapline/sub-heading thingy might be a nice thing to have. Mumsnet has "By parents for parents" but what would work best for Gransnet?

We've canvassed the good folk at GNHQ/MNHQ who had two clear favourites from a longer list. What we'd love to know is whether you prefer one or t'other - or whether you have any other thoughts about what would work. The two in question are

Older, wiser but definitely not quieter

A bit older, a lot wiser

Thanking you grin

I would suggest that "whatever type of Gran you are you'll fit into our gang' except I have, yet again on another thread, found out just how untrue this is. Perhaps it should be ... we'll force you to be like us!

I thought that too about the parlour, merlot! grin

(More tea, vicar?)

Chatting in the parlour?

What century are we in?? shock

Sorry if that comes across as a bit harsh but I don't do cyber cuddling either.

Yes, include the men - grandads or not!!

BlueBelle Wed 02-Aug-17 18:32:14

Ps I don't like the words wisdom /wise etc there are just as many dumb oldies as youngsters

BlueBelle Wed 02-Aug-17 18:29:21

I think the logo looks very 50s and old fashioned
For a very long time I believe Gransnet was what it said on the label a website for grans I was amazed when I first saw a younger non Nan posting and also a granddad
I think the sub title should show its for everyone in the second half of life and not just grannies

The logo always reminds me of a Soviet Union propaganda poster. Perhaps a change to something less strident . Don't think a strap line against the existing logo will work.

I like Wisdom and wit - ninathenana's suggestion.

gingladys Wed 02-Aug-17 16:24:53

Yes, that's good Kittylester - Wisdom, Wit and Warmth - gets my vote

Lyndie Wed 02-Aug-17 16:16:18

What about something like 'come and chat in the parlour' welcome.

merlotgran Wed 02-Aug-17 16:03:47

When I first saw Gransnet's logo I was reminded of Buzz Lightyear's 'To infinity and beyond' grin

Envious Wed 02-Aug-17 15:45:05

Grey matters

GracesGranMK2 Wed 02-Aug-17 15:40:36

Nearly a Gran, really a Gran or never a Gran - all are welcome.

HootyMcOwlface Wed 02-Aug-17 15:33:55

MiniMouse Wed 02-Aug-17 14:12:34

No, scrap that! I've just realised that the 'fasci' bit could be misinterpreted blush

MiniMouse Wed 02-Aug-17 14:11:38

What about "Gransnet for Fascinetters" - as in fascinates

Hollycat Wed 02-Aug-17 13:39:53

What about "A wealth of knowledge - willing to share"? Definitely think the logo is past it's sell by dategrin
