I'm not sure if I've asked this before, but could we have a save button when we are writing a post please? Sometimes you can't remember exactly what you need to write and want to refer back to something, and then you have to start all over again. IYKWWIM hmm

While you are waiting for the save button, Why not draft what you want to say in Word or Pages and then copy and paste it to Gransnet?

LauraGransnet (GNHQ) Thu 21-Dec-17 09:18:59

Hi Auntieflo! We'll discuss this and update you as and when smile

Thankyou Humbertbear andLaura Gransnet. Maybe I could do a draft, but am never organised enough.

I wouldn’t hold your breathe we haven’t even got an edit button

Anyone else not able to use bookmarks, or is it just me?

Greyduster Fri 29-Dec-17 14:25:04

I know I have asked this before, but the ability to post photos in PMs would be good, too. Is there some reason why this request always falls on deaf ears?

kittylester Fri 29-Dec-17 14:45:05

I can dj on the computer and on my Android.

Jalima1108 Fri 29-Dec-17 14:48:05

bookmarks? What are they?

Sometimes I block what I have started writing and then paste and continue with the post.
Most times I end up posting two or three times in a row because I have read another post that I may want to refer to.

Being able to save would be very good.

I have been having problems lately with the bookmark and save buttons but was blaming my iPad - Santa brought me a new one so am hopeful!

DanniRae Fri 29-Dec-17 15:20:54

If a bookmark means you can mark how far you have read in a thread I would like that too. Thank you!

Welshwife Fri 29-Dec-17 15:59:58

If you click on the post a bookmark button should show bottom right of the post - click that and it changes to save. When you go onto the thread again it takes you to that particular post. Or at least that is how it happens when using an iPad

kittylester Fri 29-Dec-17 16:04:19

On my Android I can book mark by clicking on the 3 little dots at the bottom of a post and choosing it from the drop down menu.

On the computer, I run the cursor up over 'customise' without clicking, 'bookmark' appears in the bottom of the thread and I click on that.

Auntieflo Fri 29-Dec-17 16:18:59

I love thse posts. Learn quite a bit, with the hints and tips given. But, can I remeber them? Nope. Happy New Year to everyone. By the way, I was in the middle of writing this, Ipad sooooo. slow, and the page reloaded itself, so I lost what I had written. Need an auto save. smile

DanniRae Fri 29-Dec-17 21:49:23

Wow - I managed to find 'bookmark' and saved a post. Great and thanks for the help!

DanniRae Fri 29-Dec-17 21:50:55

And I found out what 'flip' means - aren't I doing well today??

Jalima1108 Fri 29-Dec-17 23:06:44

Ah! found Bookmark!
I have saved your post Welshwife - thank you grin

Jalima1108 Fri 29-Dec-17 23:07:39

Welshwife: "If you click on the post a bookmark button should show bottom right of the post"

Where in the post should you click? I've tried everywhere but nothing happens. Haven't ever seen three dots, neither in Android nor on PC. Must try harder.

JackyB Sat 30-Dec-17 11:53:22

Since writing that post, I've suddenly started to have "Bookmark" appear in a post if I hover over it with the mouse. 2 years on Gransnet and never saw that before! Magic!

durhamjen Sat 30-Dec-17 12:08:26

My bookmark has reappeared, too.
Was there a problem, HQ, or did it just decide to have a day off?

Welshwife Sat 30-Dec-17 13:41:30

I have never seen the three dots and the only time I see customise is at the top of the list of threads.

Touching the screen SHOULD show the bookmark label but that feature has become a bit iffy lately. I thought it was my old iPad but the new one is the same .
