The strike through used to work on my iPad until a certain ‘upgrade’ so I know that we are trying it correctly.

The dashes just join up.

I have only just found this, and the dash dash thing used to work, and now, as you say they, the dashes just join up, and no strikethrough. What’s going on?

That was on my IPad.
Is it an Apple thing, or just a GN site problem?

It looks like the iPad uses m-dashes rather than the usual n-dashes.

Is there another hyphen on the iPad keyboard somewhere? I've never used any Apple devices and I don't know anyone who does so I can't check.

Some programs convert two n-dashes into an m-dash.

- this is not an n-dash

I don't have an m-dash nor does my keyboard automatically convert. I think they are rather outdated and becoming obsolete. Victorian books are littered with them!
