Everyone is eligible to win - we have made this very clear on our page about activities this week. We too are not keen on the deals-for-new-subscribers-only things.

And re the information gathering...now sincerely hoping that my predilection for Ryvita is not used by the powers that be grin. Seriously though, we have tried to keep to conversations that most people can contribute to and don't think that too many top secrets will be given away.

Readers as opposed to Posters.

So if I take out game threads and politics thread and now lurkers threads.... not much left. It reminds me of banks that only give the best deals to new customers not old faithfuls lol

They seem to be information gathering threads, they will know even more about us.......

Liking pop ins. It's a term we have borrowed from Mumsnet and fairly universally used, but absolutely take your point

Pop-ins ?
You know ... you can pop in and out when a subject/thread interests you.

Browsers ??

I agree with you Calendargirl, 'I've always thought that 'lurkers' has quite a sinister ring to it!

Several threads all with ‘lurkers’ in mind. Is it just me, but really not keen on the word. I fully understand the context of why it is used, but it has such a sinister, menacing ring to it.
Having said that, I can’t think of a more suitable alternative. Any ideas anyone?
