Blue You have not been rude. I was just saying that another poster said that the original OP had form for it and I found it unkind
Sewing on Girl Guide badges, aaargh!!
A famous matador gored by bull!
I realise that the coronavirus is on peoples' minds, but we seem to talk about nothing else.
This, I honestly believe, makes people more scared, and some of the remarks are frankly nasty.
It should be possible to find something more cheerful to discuss.
Could you not limit coronavirus related threads to two a day?
Blue You have not been rude. I was just saying that another poster said that the original OP had form for it and I found it unkind
I m digging on my allotment, getting the spuds in i cycle there alone I m normally the only one there in the morning 2 hours max as back starts to ache cycle home alone shower me keys gloves and then sit down becoming my routine till they shut us down completely with troops on the streets then it ll have to be garden only
Pray it stops soon
loopyloo it’s called a poly tunnel but it’s probably the smallest you can get, I suspect the novelty will soon wear off and when all this blows over DH won’t be interested. It’s at the bottom of the garden, he is also going to build raised beds to go around it , if the wood arrives.
As he can’t go to work he is determined to control something, and it won’t be me!
Oopsadaisy, you have a poly tunnel? Is it going in your garden ? Or at an allotment? I had half put up my old greenhouse but it blew down in the gales. Fortunately only one pane of glass broken. Might just use the glass as cloches.
Sorry about typos, I spend so much time complains about the iPad changing my words that now it’s refusing to do it at all.......
Well we watch any updates from Boris and the Breakfast news and that’s it, too much Covid information otherwise.
What’s happening to all of the poor people who were flooded are thy all sorted then?
We are watching Jamestown that we missed fist time around.
I have a Charity meeting this evening using something called Zoom, that will be fun, as I have no idea what it is. I’ve told them to carry on without me as I don’t think it’s something I can practise on. Anyone who has use it?
We were going to erect the Polytunnel today, but if the soil and seeds don’t arrive it will be empty, so we might hold fire on that.
Apart from that I shall perfect the art of pottering and try not to fret about a family member who is having Chemo and another one who has had a transplant, see straight back to the Virus! Although to be fair I would be worrying about them anyway, but I would have been able to visit them.
There have been times when Corbyn and/or Meghan seemed to be mentioned in every thread including dog walking and knitting bobble hats ?
Blue the OP was not saying what you said - she wanted a maximum of 2 threads a day. As for all being under the Coronavirus banner, GN never works so tidily as that with anything. Thread titles usually make it very clear and if not, a few words into the OP, you can see whether it’s a COVID thread or not.
No one in a million years is saying stop talking about Covid as usual some posters are taking a literal route and running away with it
Of course we must talk about it we want to share tips grumbles fears upsets yes yes yes keep taking about it BUT stick to one forum don’t bring it into every post in every forum
That’s all really it is not about NOT talking about it but keep it in one forum the one with the title Coronavirus
rafiagran what do I have form for ? I didn’t think I d been rude
I've learned a lot from reading the Coronavirus threads on here, information I might otherwise have missed. When I've had enough I go and do something else.
Hummmm Hetty that’s very optimistic but I ll refrain from further comment atm whilst we deal with the current situation ?
It's a bit like asking if we can avoid discussing politics. Politics is all-pervading, all encompassing, applies to everything we do.
At the moment, Coronavirus is the same (alongside politics) so almost impossible to dismiss, avoid or ignore.
Next year, it will all be over. I so look forward to that!
Or stick your fingers in your ears and sing 'La la la'! Maybe go and read a book or watch a film?
And just a reminder - you can actually switch off every device you own or limit what you click onto, listen to, read.
raf any thread that wants to limit threads about COVID is beyond stupid, heartless, self centred and frankly pathetic. Many many GNers have fears, anxieties, hardships to endure and practical, emotional, physical and financial difficulties - and I don’t mean getting your hair done. You and the OP should read the key worker thread - there are GNers whose DC are literally facing real danger. As for having form the OP has already on another thread been very dismissive about the seriousness of the virus and several of us roundly condemned her then. Of course OP can post her opinion and so can I and I have.
Pathetic, not patronising.
Agree Bluebell, You have form for this that last remark to the OP was rude, nasty, and unnecessary, I did not think the poster was smug and patronising. She was just expressing a opinion.
Suzy your blunt style of posting there was blunt and rude.
Rufus that is a laugh isn’t it?
I think GN has become a very miserable place and of course we need to talk about it, it’s monumental but to those saying (sometimes very rudely) walk on by .... walk on by to what
My news feed this morning has 73 threads about Covid and they are only the ones with obvious titles there may be many more
Yes of course it needs discussing, people want to share their fears, their worries their sadnesses but to go into such overkill is just perpetuating the sadness and fear we all have we do need a balance of positivity too and sometimes we need to take our minds of the awfulness of the situation and think of good times, good positive ways of getting through this in one piece, and yes just get away from it for a few minutes
suziewoozie grande isn’t moaning she’s expressing a valid point as she’s entitled to
Perhaps if people stuck to the forum which HQ added entitled Coronavirus and didn’t start new threads about it here there and everywhere it could be helpful
Now I will wait to be hung drawn and quartered
Pardon indeed Rufus
Well a part of me is in my element - being a sad person that quite likes washing and ironing, this gorgeous weather is very welcome; for one thing I am a real sun worshipper (with sun protection of course), also, the sunshine means I can wash all those things that have been waiting for such a day: cushion covers, washable mats, feather/down jacket, dog's bedding, oh, I could go on and on. Am off now to sit in the garden and get some rays
Hmm, yes, my thought too Rufus!
Anyone can start a thread on anything grand so stop moaning and do so.
we don't chose, or censor what people are discussing.
Pardon?
