I had a spat with GG13 last night but didn't report it though the poster had hinted that I'd be reported because I told her/him to go ahead and report me.

I don't think GNHQ have exactly covered themselves in glory over this episode.

Yes at leat two posters have received a temporary ban I think one went on to be banned altogether either that or they decided they had had enough after being back for a while.

If all the threads become bland and sweet I think I would lose interest very quickly.

My only comment is that I have noticed that I have to watch what I say or I get the nastygram. I’m now just trying to be bland which is a shame.

The problem with such speedy deletions is that unless you are poised on the forum non stop you don’t know what was said. What is “troll hunting” please?

Shame on me for being out walking the dog all morning. I missed all the deleted posts. I've skimmed through this thread and of course missed some things.

My experience of this forum is you have to work had to have something deleted and even harder to get banned.

I’m sure HQ will defend their position, but we only have their word and I just think the whole thing has been most unfortunate.

Another thing about MN is that you can change your username as often as you like.
So it will be easy to escape a squabble and continue happily posting without being recognised.
Or to change name for something controversial or personal, maybe, then change back.

I am not "affected by Covid" nor am I hypocritical. I fully acknowledge that I can and do get into arguments on GN and don't back down. Nor do I try to pretend I don't, or that I am all sweetness and light. I'm a left -wing, bolshie woman and if I can't express my opinions on GN but have to turn in to a mealy mouthed syncophant to meet the demands of some sort of panel who are worried about advertising revenue then I urge them to be careful. To those posters who are continuing to say that it wasn’t one sided ( have they even seen them?) then I say again Yes it was!
And if you doubt it then ask GNHQ.
If you didn’t read the posts then don’t pile in.
I have now asked HQ if they will please comment on this issue.

To be honest I’ve never ever seen someone attacking another poster with it being entirely one sided.

It is a shame that the banned person can’t defend herself as we only have one side of the story now.

That's disgusting. I wonder why? It is ridiculous that GNHQ fall for this business of something being entirely one sided when it obviously isn't. Could they ban a few of the people who I can only describe as hypocritical please.
