Are you having a New Year break, GNHQ?

There are a very large number of highly vulnerable workers who have carried on working throughout this crisis to supply all our needs. They deserve bank holiday time off along with all others.

Also, all on this forum post under assumed names. Therefore no private details can become known to others unless a forum member releases that themselves (as in the case of meet ups) or openly posting such information in a thread.

I would think so, it's a business after all.

Do the moderators get paid?

GN have a duty of care for the posters who use this site. You can't just pick and choose, when to do this. Moderating doesn't mean sitting and watching a screen for twenty four hours a day. Whoever is on call, surely can check in now and again.

There are a number of vulnerable and fragile posters on GN at the moment. We should all be supporting them.

I will now get off my high horse!!!

Retiredwell a poster asked that two of her own posts be removed yesterday, they are still there.
There must have been a very good reasons for her asking, I hope it hasn't caused any upset that they still remain for all to read!

Of course they can moderate from home. I have seen intervention late at night, when things get heated!

But surely they can moderate the site from home, retiredwell?

That is still working, and in that, they would not be free to do as they wished for the day.

Judging by the extent of the empty advertising placements on the forum it surprises me that GN can afford the cost of moderators at any time.

It was also a Bank Holiday so it may have been that GN employees wished to have the day off in the same way as many millions of others in Britain and around the world.

They are hardly essential workers that we cannot manage without for a few days???

Both yesterday and today, my self and others reported posts, but so far there has been no response from GNHQ.
Its all a bit strange and a tad worrying.
There is no point in having a self moderating site, if no- one responds. sad
