Nothing wrong with people expressing their views about the royal family, for or against, but a specific thread won't prevent the perpetual comments aimed at provoking, goading and ultimately upsetting posters, not their opinions.

Yes please, that way those that don't want to constantly read about the Royal Family could avoid that forum completely, safe in the knowledge that they won't be popping up all over the place.

I think it’s a great idea but sadly is likely to cause dissent. Goodness there’s dissent already.

But why would a separate Royal Fsmily forum cause dissent? Surely those who wish to contribute and read are free to do so, as witn all subjects? Or ignore if they wish. Unless what you really mean is a Royal Family adoration thread? Either way it makes little difference to me, fill your boots!

I'd be all for a Royal forum. After all the national newspapers so often print pictures and / or stories about the royal family, they must know that attracts a lot of readers.

Quite how many are GNetters, I'm not so sure, but there obviously are some, so why not?
