I made a mistake yesterday in posting something and now wish to delete it. How do I do that?

I would go to your post, click on 'Report' and ask Gransnet HQ to delete it, I don't think you can do it yourself. They are usually fairly prompt.

You can report your own post and mention why you are doing so to GNHQ. smile

go to your original post and click on 'report' at top right side... explain it's your post and you want it deleted.

it's a shame some posters can be nasty..

Thanks- it isn't because of the nastiness- I just achieved what I wanted to and don't want it to stay. I can deal with nasty- or more to the point I've learned to ignore it!

How long should I wait until a post is deleted?

ixion Fri 11-Aug-23 09:10:32

Do you mean a particular post or the whole thread?

keepingquiet Fri 11-Aug-23 10:43:00

The whole thread- or even just the original post? I've realised I made a big mistake coming back to this site and don't trust how it's monitored. I asked them to take it off and they said they would but it's still here.
I'm thinking I should just leave the site anyway but feel I need to keep coming back to see if it's still here!

You might need to remind GNHQ.

Just tell them it's too personal and your family might be recognised if anyone reads it.
They should respond.

keepingquiet Fri 11-Aug-23 11:21:00

Yes, I get an instant response and then nothing happens. I'm thinking it isn't monitored at all except maybe by robots!

I think it has gone, keepingquiet 👍

I do find it strange that some posters seem to have a hotline to have their post(s) deleted almost immediately-especially if it revealed themselves in a not so positive light- yet others seem to wait forever for the same service hmm confused
