Nicea Try going on the Meet Ups forum and click on Start Your Own Discussion, putting in the area you would like to meet up. HTH

I also managed to local page under my old name of Teetime. I loaded the page with lots of information but it didn't get many 'looks'. I enjoyed doing it at the time but 'socials' have moved on a lot since then.

I think that GN got a grant of some kind to set up local GN webpages (not physical groups) and support them for a year. They appealed for volunteers to edit the pages, and I was one of those who managed my local page. Several other pages were set in up various areas, but a lot of the country didn't have any coverage.
One of the things we were supposed to be doing was canvassing locally to get local businesses to sign up on a free list, with the option of also buying advertising space. That took far more time and chutzpah than just editing a chat page and creating interesting snippets about the local area. We were essentially trying to sell advertising. I wasn't any good at that.
When the year was up, most of the local editors left. A few continued for a while, but I don't think there are any local pages still functioning. I wish GN would remove all mention of them.

Yes many years ago there were local groups managed by Gransnetters some of whom are still posting but the local pages didn’t really take off.

Yes, there were years ago but they seem to have been abandoned.

Nicea

Thanks but I read somewhere on the site that there are local 'pages'. I don't know how to search for the page in my own city if there is one.

Ido t think there are any local pages Nicea. I’ve been on here about three years and never heard of them.

Gransnet is an online group, although some members who live quite near to each other meet up from time to time.

How do I find my local Gransnet group or page?
I've looked at Site stuff and done a search but didn't find an answer.
Thanks for any pointers.
