We all know that beneath every mild-mannered gransnetter lies the spirit of a younger, and perhaps wilder you - so we're asking what thing from your past your family or friends might be surprised at.

Whether it was that short stint as a rock groupie, being arrested on a CND rally, or even sporting a punk haircut and being expelled from school for it - L'Oreal would love to hear about them.

Take a look at L'Oreal's video and see what other surprises people have in their pasts:

When I was 2 I drank a glass of tadpoles, I was thirsty and my mum didn't give me a drink quick enough so I put my cup in the garden pond and drank that. Its not crazy but it makes me feel sick just thinking about it.

I told my children that when the little ride-ons outside the supermarkets made musical noises then it was an alarm going off...that they were broken. Saved them from having a meltdown!

I dont think there is anything to tell - i have always been very open about EVERYTHING ive done ( just ask my friends, family, work colleagues) this means 2 good things :-
1 nothing will ever pop up and bite me because all my friends go yeh we knew she did that!
and
2 my kids never got away with anything, thing my mum was always very naive and did not have a clue what i got up to but my boys got caught ( and grounded ) on everything as id already tried that hehe

That I shoplifted things as a child, I now work in a very law abiding job so in particular my children and collegues would be extremely surprised!

(and dancing is the best therapy and exercise in the world !)

I told my children I was an A1 pupil at school, when in truth I was a lazy switched off pupil. When my son said I don't think I will be a high achiever like you were, I had to come clean.

I went on holiday with my partner and his family. While visiting a water park, we were in the rapid river and my partners brother decided to pull on my bikini stings. Next thing I know, my bottoms were jetting off and we had to have a mad scramble to get them back, while I was being sheltered against the walls

my son and daughter are regularly shocked by the things I allow my grandchildren to do in my house that I never allowed them to do when they were children!

I can't believe I did this, but when I was a teenager in Cornwall and bought my first razor to shave my legs, I couldn't wait until I got home to try it, so sat on the beach in full view of everyone and shaved them there !

I was very mischievous when I was 10 years old. I climbed up the roof when my dad left a ladder leaning against the roof of our bungalow. I accidentally knock the ladder and it fell after climbing on tot he roof.

When my younger brother asked how was getting down I told him I was going to jump down. Without any thought I jumped down!! I was very thankful I did not break any bones except graced my legs and arms when I landed on the ground. When I was older I learned I could have broken my neck the fall was a big drop! I was spanked by my dad as my uncle saw reported what he saw to my dad.

I was asked for directions by a group of people in a car as I came out of college after a dance, I said "I'm going that way, give me a lift and I'll show you". They dropped me off and said thank you. Makes my blood run cold to think of it now.

I got completely and utterly drunk at my leaver's ball and had to be revived by the smell of coffee by my mum.
