It’s only a few more weeks until the holiday season is upon us and schools are closed for Christmas. Sky has developed an app for children full of their favourite TV shows and is interested to know what TV programmes you’ll be watching with your GCs over the holidays.

What are your favourite TV shows to watch together? Are they the same ones as when your children were young, or even when you were young? What’s your routine for watching TV shows together? Do you snuggle up on the sofa in front of the fire with a cup of hot chocolate? Maybe you watch a quick show together on their tablet before bedtime? Whatever you watch, Sky Kids would like to hear about it.

Here’s what Sky has to say about the Sky Kids app: "the Sky Kids app is a tablet app just for the kids and full of their favourite TV shows like Paw Patrol, Scooby Doo, Octonauts, Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom, SpongeBob SquarePants and more – all available to watch on demand and at no extra cost for Sky’s Variety and Box Sets Bundle customers. The app lets you set up a personalised profile for each of your GCs with shows tailored to their age and their very own homepage with their name on it. You can also set time limits and put the app to sleep whenever you want – YWBU not to!"

Please share your favourite programmes to watch with your GCs below and you will be entered into a prize draw where one Gransnetter will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list)

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

Oh dear it has to be Pawpatrol, my 3 yrs old granddaughter is obsessed by it. The five year old will watch most things but loves it when I record the Barbie's short films for her, I think they're a good take on classic stories. I have recorded Santa Claus The Movie for them as I remember taking my children to the cinema on Christmas Eve to watch it and it was magical.

It's bound to be Dr Who in this household, it always is!

I don't have Sky and we don't usually watch any TV on Christmas Day. I may watch the Christmas Strictly with my granddaughter though as we're both fans of that and we'll probably watch some of the classic family films over the Christmas break such as The Snowman or The Railway Children.

We do like to sit and watch TV with the grandchildren, I like it because it means we have a cuddle. This time of year they like to cuddle up with a blanket.A hot chocolate is a must when they visit. We watch films usually Disney,Paw Patrol is popular and Go Jetters at the moment. I usually suggest watching something on tv when I want them to wind down after chasing about.

Thomas the Tank engine is popular with a range of ages and any cartoons really

We'll see our GC just after Christmas so I will record a few things like 'Revolting Rhymes' and 'We're going on a bear hunt'. Otherwise it will be anything Disney or funny. I love to hear their laughter,
The rest of the time I'm hoping that they will be playing and won't need too much entertaining.

they love all the disney films especially the old ones. if weather too cold or wet to play outside we watch togeather and sing very loudly and they act out scenes especially Jungle Book which we also dance to ie "I want to be like you" and "colonel Hathi's march". they love nothing better than story time and drawing with nanna.

I don't have SKY but my daughter does, and I'll be spending just over a week with her and the boys before and over Christmas. As I don't watch a great deal of TV myself, it's quite a treat to snuggle up on the settee of an evening with both boys and have them introduce me to some of their favourites. On Christmas Day itself, we have lots of activities planned for during the day and, by early evening, I imagine that we'll be more than ready to put our feet up and watch The Last Dragonslayer.
Really looking forward to that after the roastchicken and odd glass of wine

We don't ha e SKY but we will be watching Cbbees, auctonaut, most of their programme on YouTube and BBC iPlayer. They are in control (only 6 and 3 and a half years). We will watch the Queen's speech without a doubt if no one fall asleep.

nessa38ish Tue 13-Dec-16 11:04:24

leanfun Tue 13-Dec-16 10:56:01

nancytownsend Tue 13-Dec-16 10:55:34

We don't have a Sky subscription and we won't be seeing the grandchildren at Christmas either.

Voni Tue 13-Dec-16 10:47:58

My grandaughter( nearly 4) is looking forward to us watching the Paddington movie together. We snuggle up next to each other on the sofa and share a plate of cut up fruit. It's the best!!

nanaK54 Mon 12-Dec-16 19:34:17

Not sure yet but I am sure that Peppa Pig will feature in our Christmas viewing ?

Tizliz Mon 12-Dec-16 16:39:53

Anything with Minions in, great favourite of all the family

TwiceAsNice Mon 12-Dec-16 16:01:51

I will be watching the Christmas specials of Bake off and Strictly . We all love them including 7 year old twin granddaughters. We will also be watching Christmas films we watched Polar Express this weekend already as it is a particular favourite, the little girls also love the Narnia films.

I agree with mcem. Wouldn't consider watching/subscribing to Sky because I, too, believe Rupert Murdoch and his family to be odious. Won't stop me watching all the old Christmas classics on DVD or BBC though. White Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street, etc are Christmas essentials and granddaughter will need to overdose on Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig and Ben and Holly. I think both she and I can sing along with all of these now! Merry Christmas everybody!???

Den632 Sun 11-Dec-16 18:40:39

I love Christmas specials and Christmas we shall be watching the BFG and Jungle Book

HootyMcOwlface Sun 11-Dec-16 14:43:03

Won't be watching Sky here, we are BBC people! Sherlock and Dr Who!

HannahLI Sun 11-Dec-16 14:27:14

We love to snuggle up and watch paw patrol

GrannyA11i Sun 11-Dec-16 10:51:18

A family film which isn't animated would be my choice but chances are it will be peppa pig or paw patrol when we mind them before Christmas. On the day we don't watch anything other than Dr Who!

Teetime Sat 10-Dec-16 09:43:11

I love to watch Polar Express, Muppets Christmas Carol and The Snowman and Father Christmas with my GC and as they have a full SKY package (although mostly for the sport) I expect GC will introduce me to all his favourites.

Rinouchka Sat 10-Dec-16 07:54:34

None.

M0nica Fri 09-Dec-16 17:04:49

We will probably not watch any. Children may watch some early morning cartoons, but that is about it. We will be out and about: panto, country walks, Stately homes dressed for Christmas. We will watch DVDs: Muppets Christmas Carol with Michael Caine is a must and Rossini's Cenerentola with Frederica von Stade. Indoors we play games: scrabble mainly and do quizzes. Children play with their toys or make and do with us.Thanks to GN I have a nice new quiz book for this Christmas and, of course, talk non-stop

Generally we do not have time to watch TV.
