I'd love to travel to America or Canada to experience a Native American Indian Pow-Wow, but I'm sure non Native Americans would not be allowed entrance to such a wonderful event.

Madeira, but I've been told the plane has to brake very hard on landing because the runway is short. Scary!

I would love to go to India, Singapore. We were going, booked and paid but then my husband fell ill. Couldn’t go and lost everything. I would nice to win and go. Thank you.

Would like to go on a holiday with a guide, but tried one and found the group too large. Some people straggled and one even got left behind and it was hard to hear what the tour leader and guides were saying unless you were really close to them. When we were given comfort breaks it took ages to get served coffee etc. and hardly any time left to drink it. Perhaps unlucky with our choice of travel company/ destination.

Embarrassingly, my main problem is the proximity of toilets that limits my travel choices. Old age has few consolations...

The archaeological sites in Iraq - and the political climate there!

I would love to visit South Africa, particularly in our winter. However... the security and safety aspects completely put me off. Friends have been and were told by hotel staff that it was not safe to leave the hotel after dusk and even during the day time it was safer to call a cab and not walk...

For a safer place, New Zealand and Argentina both look amazing......

Would love to visit Machu Pichu but worried about my capacity to cope with the altitude - I was affected just going to the top of Mount Teide in Tenerife so maybe it's not for me. Pity! Otherwise, not much puts me off from travelling although I would like to be able to afford to go business class for a more comfortable experience on long haul flights.

I would love to see polar bears at the North Pole and if it was the right season, see whales too. Not likely to manage this trip due to the cost, but I can dream

I would love to go to the Maldives, and stay in a bungalow over the sea, dream holiday, but the older I have got, the thought of long distance travel on planes in cramped seats, the energy of queuing at airports really puts me off. Really wish I did it when I was younger and more able.

My husband and I were planning to go to Jordan including a visit to Petra. I struggle with the heat so we'd planned to book for a winter holiday. Just as we were about to book we found out I was pregnant with our first child. In order to have been able to fly we'd have had to go somewhat earlier in the year when it would have been pretty hot but not only that but the travel into Petra was on horseback - not exactly ideal when pregnant when I'd only ever been on a horse once before! I'd also discovered that my morning sickness was worse when it was hot weather so we went to the travel agent and asked where we could go that was cool. We went to Iceland that summer. I've still not been to Petra, although (now ex) husband went on a charity cycle ride across Jordan without me so went there. If I am to go now I'll need to find a travelling companion - and the money!

I'd love to visit Bhutan, travelling with a small group. I've read so much about this small Kingdom, all of which makes me long to experience it before it becomes touristy. What stops me? So far, the cost....so saving hard

I can't tolerate heat so tend to holiday in the cooler months. I love Islamic architecture and ancient cities and in the past have traveled to Damascus, Aleppo and Palmyra, spending Christmas in Syria, and am sad that these beautiful places and people have been devastated by war. I also love Turkish cities, but don't feel quite so comfortable going to Istanbul anymore. Iran is still on my wish list.

I would love to visit Mexico. As a way of improving my Spanish, I have watched a lot of TV series made in that country, and some of the scenery looks absolutely stunning.
However, safety issues would be a huge concern for me, as the sort of places I would want to visit would be well away from the major tourist resorts, and probably too dangerous.

There is always something more to see in this country and that has stopped me going overseas.

There are so many places I would love to go: Japan, Nicaragua/Pananma, Galapagos, Canada, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, South Africa....sadly it's mostly the cost which is prohibitive and then safety - either safety usually in terms of increased fears of terrorism or personal violence - or difficult getting travel insurance which would make healthcare safe as my OH as ongoing health problems. Usually more expensive arrangements eg a guide or different ways of travel can help with the safety but that comes at a cost. However we are trying to travel as much as we can.

Two barriers for me - one is safety and the foreign office advice for the country -if its not safe I'm not going! and the other is distance/flight time in cramped conditions.

The lack of toilets due to a medical condition which often requires a visit urgently. There are lots of places I'd like to visit in the UK but so many public toilets have closed and the lack of information is not adequate. I'm always concerned that the toilet maps may be out of date. It would be good to have acknowledgement of facilities on brochures too - some do, some don't. Some eateries don't have them either in spite of the fact there are tables and chairs provided to sit at!

That said, before my condition took hold, I've been lucky to visit many countries abroad - but it's the UK I'd like to explore now

No, travel sickness pills are not the answer if you get sea sick. They certainly make it more bearable, but a cruise where you were on travel sickness pills the whole time would not be enjoyable.

I am prone to travel sickness and we did do a Norwegian coast cruise, Hurtigruten, so we really were hugging the coast, and protected from the worst of the weather by the islands, but I missed the best Northern lights show because I had had to take sea sickness pills and was feeling very sleepy and groggy as a result and on other days when I took them I still ended missing meals and sleeping a lot

My great hate when travelling is airports. Not flying, I am quite happy with that but big airports, the lighting, air quality, airport shops, which are all horrible and overpriced. the whole experience is really unpleasant.

In recent years we have travelled by train. We have been to Switzerland, Germany. Spain and France. I travelled to Marseille in January. Left St Pancras at 10.30, arrived in Marseille around 5.30, with one change of train. We could see the varying landscape as we travelled across France, the seats were more comfortable and roomy than you find on trains in the UK. We had a hotel near the station and by 6.30 were sitting in a restaurant having a leisurely dinner.

Angel Falls in Venezuela is the only place left to see on my 50 year old list of 'To Do' places. With the given troubles at the moment, that is never going to happen. I have though ticked Taj Mahal at long last in February x
