I have had a problem regarding itchy skin for a while. It is always on my back and when I mentioned it to my Doctor he suggested that it was dry skin which needed to be moisturised. It's very annoying at times and difficult to reach. I am not sure what cream to use.

My hands get so sore and dry in the winter - they crack and bleed. I haven't found anything that really stops this (help me out if anyone knows what can) - I just have to try and wear gloves as often as practical when outside and use lots and lots of good hand cream - Aveeno probably the best for me.

My legs are always quite dry and a little flaky - moisturise very time I've showered with a nice Vaseline lotion.

I have discoid eczema on my arms. Sometimes its worse than others. I use an e45 moisturiser twice a day and this it ok for the most part. I have to make sure i dont miss doing it though or my skin becomes flaky and people can stare. I wish i could find something a bit more effective

I have to moisture regularly as my skin feels tight and itchy becoming worse in winter. I usually have showers as baths tend to dry it out even more. I also make sure I drink plenty of water as I find this seems to help

I quite often get itchy, dry skin on my hands and my head.
All I can really do is moisturise, stay away from perfumed products and take an anti histamine.
Occasionally I have to use a bit of steroid cream on my head to completely clear it up.

I have to be very careful what products I use, at the moment I am using baby wash which doesn't seam to dry out my skin so much. I use E45 but some nights its just not enough and the itching drives me crazy (I use Germoline as it has a local anaesthetic

I bathe in Epsom salts and it is very soothing. Also aloe vera gel works for me. I never use any soap on my face as it is so sensitive.

My skin is really itchy at the moment and there is nothing I've found that will soothe it

blahblahblah1 Thu 29-Aug-19 19:58:03

My skin gets terribly itchy after a bath, so I moisturise all over and wait a while before putting any clothes back on.

My itching comes and goes, mostly on my stomach in the winter, I've discovered that ezcmae cream works well

I have to be very careful what products I use as my skin is very sensitive. I use Infracare in the bath as that doesn't irritate it and make it even drier. In the winter I get a very itchy patch at the bottom of my back - I can't work out any reason why this happens - and my fingers sometimes get so dry they crack and bleed. I use E45 and that does help a bit.

I get horribly dry itchy patches on my neck that go an angry red. I think it is caused by hair products, although it comes and goes without an obvious pattern. There are only a few brands of hair mousse, spray etc that I can use and even these occasionally give bad flare ups. When it is bad I have to constantly cake the patches in E45 or similar otherwise I am clawing at it. As soon as it has all been absorbed I have to put more on. I have it so thick my hair gets stuck to it.

Having been on antibiotics for 2 months, I am really itchy, strangely savlon seems to help

kayade1 Fri 30-Aug-19 05:39:30

I have always had very dry skin on my elbows and it gets super itchy,It took a while to find something that helped but E45 seems to work the best for me,I get through so much.

I get really bad dry and itchy skin but find that the answer is to moisturise, moisturise and moisturise some more. My skin thanks me for it!

I have decided to tackle mine from the inside. I started using Irish moss as a basis for smoothies and my skin has improved immensely.
It is soaked overnight, strained boiled and when cool, is placed in the fridge for future use.

I have dry itchy skin, especially on my hands. I have to moisturise regularly throughout the day and always after washing them. I have tried many different creams, lotions and ointments, some prescribed and some more effective than others!
It affects my everyday life because my hands are always either dry and irritated making it hard for me to concentrate or I've just moisturised them so they are greasy, sticky or slippery.
I'd love to find a product that works, that will give me some relief and that I can rely on.

I've had a skin condition called granuloma annulare for over 10 years now. Keeping moisturised helps but the rash has never gone. It looks unsightly but I have had to learn to live with it.

svalentine60 Fri 30-Aug-19 13:49:00

I had excema as a child and up until my teens. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes around 8 years ago which seems to have made it reappear and my skin to become very dry and itchy. I use a lot of E45 cream and prescribed creams. It can have a great impact on your life if severe and diabetes in itself can cause itchy skin so i have a double whammy.

sscrase Fri 30-Aug-19 14:57:07

Purely self inflicted but I suffer terribly with prickly heat towards the end of summer holidays. Have learned though that by getting myself stocked up with antihistamine well before I leave that it gets manageable.

baconbap Fri 30-Aug-19 15:15:15

my skin has definitely got drier post menopause

Maggiemaybe Fri 30-Aug-19 15:47:35

I've had some patches of itchy skin very recently - randomly, they've been on my stomach and behind my right ear! I've no idea what that's all about. I've tried various creams, potions and oils but nothing's made any difference, they just come and go as they please.

Pittcity Fri 30-Aug-19 16:53:32

DH and DD have always suffered from Eczema. It runs on his side of the family. They have tried all sorts of creams, prescription and over the counter. We swear by aqueous cream as a moisturizer and soap substitute. It's cheap and so there is no pressure to skimp on use. They also respect their natural oils and don't bathe or shower every day unless necessary.
Wearing cotton and using mild washing powder helps too.

Misslayed Fri 30-Aug-19 17:40:47

I get patches of red, scaly skin on my face, neck and scalp which itch so badly I could scratch my face off. Nizoral cream and shampoo help a bit, but it's a constant battle to keep it at bay.
