We all have a dream destination that we’d love to travel to - somewhere where you’ve always wanted to go, but never got around to visiting. While some would love to go on Safari in South Africa, others would be happier lounging on the white sand beaches of Greece. Whether you’d like to travel near or far, there can be many barriers to travel. Perhaps you simply don’t have the time to travel, or think that the total cost of the trip might break the bank? Or maybe you have fears about not being able to speak the language, or your health not being protected while abroad? With this in mind, Staysure would love to hear from you.

Here’s what Staysure have to say: “At Staysure, we believe that if something’s worth doing, then it’s worth doing right. That’s why our customers voted us the UK’s Best Travel Insurance Provider in the British Travel Awards.

We all want to be able to enjoy our holiday, knowing that we will be covered should something happen. We do not want to have to worry about possible repercussions and for that reason having good quality travel insurance should be a priority.”

If you could book a ticket right now, where in the world would you like to visit? What are the barriers that are stopping you from going (eg health, finances, mobility, fear of flying)? Is travel insurance important to you when booking a trip? Does travel insurance give you the piece of mind that you’ll be protected when abroad, or do you have some reservations about what will be covered.

So whether you want to take the trip of a lifetime or just a short weekend away, share below what it is that’s stopping you and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one lucky GNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

Not too far - just to take my husband to the glorious lochs and glens of Scotland. He's recently been diagnosed, after being seriously ill with sepsis and pneumonia, with heart failure. I love him to the moon and back but travelling too far would not be sensible. moonsad

The complete awfulness of UK airports is a barrier to me travelling more.

My dream destination would be the home of the King, Elvis, to Graceland. I named my house after Graceland but would love to go and see the real thing. Of course, insurance is very important, especially as you get older so would make sure I was properly covered.

I would like to go to Canada and see the rockies. Also New Zealand. I have thre step children one in Italy, one in Chicago and one in Toronto..... be lovely to go and visit them too. There aren’t enough years to possibly see everything and I’ve been lucky to see quite a bit so far. At present finance is a problem, I’d like to downsize and release some money but my hubby doesn’t agree?

I would love to go to Poland, and see, and pay my respects to those who suffered and perished in the concentration camps, then to see the beauty of Krakow. This may not be on everyones 'bucket list' but as I am of polish decent, I feel I must pay my respects, and take in the 'feel' of Austwisch berkenhau.

My dream? A six month road trip with my husband, with money no real object, around south east Asia (6 weeks), Australia and New Zealand (6 weeks) and then South America ( 6 weeks). I would love to do something like this before any health issues prevent it but the sheer cost makes it unlikely. In the meantime we’re looking forward to a weekend away on the west coast of Scotland!

The Galapagos! Would love to see where the "Origin of the Species" was visualised! So expensive but in my dreams...one day!

An entire week in the Scottish Highlands. Have not had a proper holiday in 32 years of marriage. Happy to have a long weekend away on rare occasions. Limited income and funds prevent us from doing anything more "exotic", although we are fortunate enough to live on the west coast Of Scotland.

We’ve just returned from a wonderful trip to Uganda around several of their wildlife reserves. It was our last long haul ‘energetic’ holiday as we’re now feeling it’s too much for us health wise.

We’ve been insured and felt secure with Staysure behind us but, having decided to go for more sedate holidays in future we were surprised to find that Staysure won’t cover us for the river cruises we’d planned for our dotage.

I'd love to take an expedition cruise into the Arctic and see the wildlife and magnificent scenery - while it is still there!

I would go to the Fastnet lighthouse in Ireland and put red roses in the sea for my Grandfather who died there in 1917. His ship was torpedoed by a German submarine.

Would love to take our girls 11 and 13 to Disney land they have never been abroad I've only been once to Spain by coach due to fear of flying my health isn't good and rely on my wonderful fiancee of 15 yrs father to our giris he had to give up work due to my health so have never been able to afford buy all passports..now our girls are at the age they are they keep asking to go abroad as they would like to holiday somewhere different an warm an to be able to swim in the warm seas..they are good girls and don't ask for alot an help with my health..both are now homeschooled due to my eldest being bullied and threatened with a knife, so decided to teach them at home where they are safe and happy and will stay the happy, kind, loving respectful girls they are..I would just love to be able to get passports put my fear of flying aside and make my girls dreams come true they deserve it..oh an finally give their dad a well deserved break as we don't know where we'd be without him..sorry to have gone on too much

I've always wanted to go to Australia, there are so many places I'd love to see there, & also family scattered around that I'd love to visit. Unfortunately, my DH isn't a good flyer, & gets stressed on a short hop to mainland Europe, so he could never manage the flight. If it was just a matter of cost, I'd be happy to start saving, but until they invent a way of getting there without flying & without breaking the bank on a round the world cruise, we'll never do it.

I would like to spend several weeks touring Japan, visiting the main cities, but also hiking in the mountains and finding some quieter, more traditional towns and villages to explore. The reason we havent done this is mainly due to cost, its a really expensive country to visit, but also we are concerned about the language barrier and not being able to read anything. We like to arrange our own holidays, mainly in self catering, and would need good insurance just in case one of our bookings didnt work out.

The only two overseas places I would like to visit are Palestine to see my father's family home in Haifa and my grandmother's home in Nazareth and Jaffa. What stops me? Politics mainly!

The other place is Costa Rica.. such a varied environment and such good eco credentials! What stops me? I can't afford to get there by boat!
Also insurance costs.. I have an underlying chronic condition that is extremely unlikely to ever cause me any acute problems but it whops up the payments!

Canada. I have never been but would love to go on a trip. The cost of such a trip is a major factor and work commitments.

Back to Israel and USA. Nothing stops us from achieving our travel dreams but ourselves. So looks like it's happening 2020.

Hawaii would be incredible, but the cost of it is what stops me! Hopefully one day...

My dream destination is The Maldives but my husband would hate it - the thought of being on an island that could be walked around in 20 minutes would drive him mad so unless I go on my own it's not going to happen!
