Whether you walk every day, you’re a keen cyclist, or passionate about running, we all know how important it is to get outside in the open air, especially during lockdown. I try to keep warm. I haven't been out much during lockdown and the benefit of staying indoors has been less pain in the knees. I broke my ankle 12 years ago and it's trouble free as long as no sub zero temperatures. When I have a flare up, I use Voltarol, knee supports, tiger balm and Deep Relief. I always take supplements such as cod liver oil, turmeric, etc.

I knackered my back gardening during lockdown last spring. Been doing stretches and plenty of walking/running, but just a month ago I was struggling to reach to get my socks on in the morning. Cholesterol too high, so cut out cheese, biscuits, sausages, reduced butter, lost half a stone, and although back not “cured” getting my socks on a lot lot easier, and generally feel more mobile.

I've been taking glucosamine supplements for years and havn't got any joint pain.

I have a yoga routine as well, stretching the limbs keeps them supple.

I've been trying to boost my immune system this year against the dreaded Covid and have been taking a number of different supplements including magnesium and cod liver oil capsules, both of which taken together seem to have had the added bonus of improving my chronic osteoarthritis and stenosis flare-ups..this was the one unexpected plus to the pandemic!

I have arthritis in my hands, back and neck . Regular stretching and daily walking helps along with soluble paracetamol and lavender oil on my pillow at night.

Turmeric is my main supplement go to. I also wear warm socks - I broke my leg two years back and still have bone pain . Voltarol gel and paracetamol with codeine at my worst times . Neoprene wrist and ankle supports . I can’t take aspirin or ibuprofen or non steroidal anti inflammatories due to other medication . I’ll try most things to stop the pain.

Exercise, exercise, exercise. I do yoga and Pilates exercises a mixture of both every morning, which I swear keeps me supple. plus cod liver oil and rosehip tabs. Arthritis is very painful!

I started using Turmeric (with black pepper) )and within a week my back felt less stiff and has done ever since. I swear by it.

Before lockdown i went to Pilates classes and knew it helped my joints. Now I find im aching if I sit too long. My solution is to do some pilates on the floor.

Having read these posts I've decided to try turmeric and black pepper capsules but am completely bamboozled by the amount and different types of them out there. Does anyone recommend a particular make/source? And should they be organic?
I have arthritis in hands knees ankles and feet and at the moment have a flareup in one very swollen extremely painful foot. Had about 9 months with no flareups and now this is the 3rd in about 3 months. Can barely walk. Doc will only say that it's arthritis/gout and I normally have Naproxen tablets to hand, but am running out

I have osteoarthritis, waiting for an op for a new knee, and fibromyalgia. I try to hit the joint pain with holistic methods like magnesium, glucosamine, chondroitin, CBD oil and mindfulness. I do chair yoga with a local disability group to try and keep joints moving.

I don’t have any particularly new or original tips. I always warm up and stretch when doing any vigorous exercise. Yoga helps a few times a week to stretch out my joints and aid flexibility and balance. I try to eat well and take an Omega 3 capsule daily. If I have any pain, I use joint cream.

Various aches and pains in the joints keep happening, but I find that daily cod liver oil capsules help. If it's really cold I wear fingerless gloves while using the computer to prevent pains in finger joints. But most importantly I do try to keep moving - daily walks or exercise classes and also Pilates which is great for keeping mobile.

I take tumeric and use deep relief gel, deep freeze or if the pain is really bad use voltarol for my knee. Waiting another cortizone injection at hospital that lasted for a year but has worn off now. Also taking the odd ibruofen but trying to keep off those when the pain wont go away,

I use a heat pack to help with my joint pain, it heats up in the microwave and stays warm for 2-3 hours and gives damp heat to your joints and muscles which is better than dry heat.

I find rubbing Vicks vapour rub onto affected areas helps alot

Keeping painful joints warm - baths, hot flannels applied etc, gently massage in moisturiser or a little oil with a few drops of essential oil, gentle stretching exercises.
When covid allows I hope to return to having regular gentle Perrins massages which really used to help my mobility and energy

Aromatherapy oils, rubbed on to the joint every a.m. & p.m. These are warming, and, over time, they do ease the pain - be patient!

I take paracetamol when i get up and then try some exercises to warm up
