Rugby again

I'm quite happy to watch a good exciting game. DH has been watching all afternoon.
I spent my courting days standing on the touch line of our local club watching him play.
When I first met him I didn't understand the game. But I soon realized it was a case of "can't beat em, join em" so I read the rule book. DH was impressed by that and told all his team mates.

Finding it hard to watch this, but Scotland not really that bad. Just England better.

What a good match this afternoon. Italy have really come in from the cold these days.

That was a turn up for the proverbial! Doesn't bode too well for Murrayfield next weekend [ooer]

I've just flown back to Edinburgh from Heathrow with the entire Scottish Rugby team on board +their entourage. Oh dear, they didn't look too happy and at least 3 players were hobbling in stookies and on crutches

A good result this weekend, from my viewpoint anyway! One SIL happy, one SIL not so happy! No Welsh blood in the family but really surprised by Italian win. Should be an interesting 6 Nations!

Oh, I hardly dare watch next weekend, gracesmum - do you think we are expecting a wooden spoon? Gally, what had those big English bruisers done to the Flower of Scotland?

Crushed them as usual anno ! I had to stop the friend who was picking me up from the airport from having a go at their coach

I remember my father flying back from Dublin many years ag with the successful Scottish rugby team. He said it was hilarious. I imagine that drink had been taken but it remained good-natured and they finished up passing the hat round for the "driver"!!

I was a member of a Paris rugby team that was in the same hotel as the French rugby team (the Seabank at Porthcawl) when they won the grand slam at Cardiff Arms Park in 1968. I am sure it was an unforgettable evening - I just can't remember much of it!
