Here's a new Wimbledon thread or those of us who love the tennis this time of year. Who's your favourite player? For me, it's Roger Federer, but Rafa Nadal comes a close second. smile

I hope that Lisicki becomes the Wimbledon champ. I like her attitude. smile

I'm hoping for a Bartoli - Lisicki final, but this afternoon's women's semis are going to be enjoyable, whatever the outcome smile

Wasn't he just!!!

We need a 'corrr' emoticon.

They must dread that interview afterwards, he always asks the most stupid questions and often repeats the same one again in a slightly different way.

That Spaniard was a bit of a hunk, smile

betsysgran Wed 03-Jul-13 19:32:54

Our Andy.

Galen Wed 03-Jul-13 19:32:09

Who won?

Butty Wed 03-Jul-13 19:31:34

His interview was no different from all his others. That's how he is. He's a tennis player, not a media lovey.

betsysgran Wed 03-Jul-13 19:31:23

It was the interviewer who was terrible. Inane and stupid questions. Andy did his best.

j08 Wed 03-Jul-13 19:29:54

I don't think he wanted to be interviewed. grin

Galen Wed 03-Jul-13 19:28:43

Who won?
Was on the phone to 92year old fit with it aunt!

betsysgran Wed 03-Jul-13 19:25:17

Brilliant match. Terrible interview after. My knitting got faster and faster, glad it's stocking stitch!

It was a Samson thing; when his hair unravelled so did his game. Phew. Didn't actually watch it; sat in the living room with the telly on reading the sunday papers and listening out for the oohs and aahs. I'm used to race that last a few minutes; these games that last for hours wear me out. I'll have to watch the replay now. Can't believe Murray came back and won.

Butty Wed 03-Jul-13 19:22:57

Brilliant. Great match.

annodomini Wed 03-Jul-13 19:17:52

Whew!

Greatnan Wed 03-Jul-13 19:09:37

I wish they wouldn't do that thing with their fist and a bent arm - it looks so aggressive.

annodomini Wed 03-Jul-13 18:51:04

Butty, he looks rather like the 1950s Brylcreem advertisements.

annodomini Wed 03-Jul-13 18:38:29

What with yelling, "Come on, Andy", alternating with "Shut up Boris", my voice is getting decidedly ropey.

nonnanoo Wed 03-Jul-13 18:33:17

Edge of sofa, bread and jam for tea again as no tv in kitchen

Butty Wed 03-Jul-13 17:48:18

Andy's doing the best he can. I'm cheering him on!
I'm still concerned about Verdasco's hair....... has he gone off to do more waxing/spraying perhaps....? wink

MaggieP Wed 03-Jul-13 17:45:44

I need to go and do a big shop but can't leave the TV, Andy seems to have rejoined the game now! Luckily the big supermarkets stay open for ever!
