I know what you mean glamma but I think the comment was made with the thought in mind of how other jockey's in the past have been at that moment, AP McCoy when he won on "Don't Push It", Ryan Mania last year on "Auroras Encore", ther's been a bit of air punching, grinning from ear to ear etc. They did say that Leighton Aspell was more of a quiet type!

Phoenix did you think it strange how the winning rider was questioned by a reporter as to how "chilled out " he was and why wasn't he smiling,I'd have thought the guy was so overcome with savouring every moment of his great win, it must be every jocky's dream,I don't follow racing but I thought the reporter was a bit off target.

I too preferred the BBC coverage, but Channel 4 didn't do too badly today, some very good post race bits showing who went and where, plus the really odd bit where a horse and rider seemed to get carried very much adrift by a riderless horse!

Jockey was Brooke, I think. he was the one who much earlier in the season made the most amazing job of staying on after he ended up with both legs on the same side of the horse for a stride or two!

I am disappointed that the BBC no longer has the rights to the Grand National . I used to like to watch the re-run on Saturday evening which always had the music from the film Champions playing in the background. I was interested to see how far the horses got because it was hard to keep track while watching the actual race .
