If it turns out to be true I would be totally shocked. I don't know if it's because I used to see her running round our town where she was at University and I feel she is 'one of ours' or because of her stance against drug usage in sport.
It would be like Cilla all over again. 
I too think of Paula as "one of ours", having taught her French many years ago at her secondary school. I like to think my athletic prowess inspired her too 
I stepped out of the post office once and she ran past me so quickly I was nearly bowled over - she was superb to watch.
