I think my 6-0 prediction for England was a little optimistic, now I come to think about it.?

PS We watched the final in a pub. There were around 20 of us to start, only a dozen left by the end. There was a bit of disorderly conduct when a 10 year old had his whistle confiscated by his dad for inappropriate use. Several supporters slightly overindulged, went off to the toilets and didn’t come back. There’ll be some sore heads tomorrow, but I can confidently say that we haven’t overwhelmed the local emergency services. Well done and hard luck, England, it was fun while it lasted.

Berrettini was very good, but it became obvious Djokovic would win. I stopped watching it before the end.

I have no interest whatsoever in football, but luckily there is a Summer Night Concert from Vienna on BBC4 at roughly the same time, so I shall watch that.

I predict that the emergency services will be overwhelmed by celebrating drunken crowds if England win. I further predict the emergency services will have to deal with drunken carnage if England lose. Either way I’m feeling for our emergency services tonight.

I also predict that whoever wins at Wimbledon there will be no drunken carousing in the streets by spectators afterwards.

There may be a few carelessly lobbed bananas or strawberries though, and a litter of champagne bottles all over the place.
