Please join us in conversation if you enjoy Wimbledon - it is just 2 weeks of the years and greatly enjoyed by it’s fans.

Now for Novak. He's always lovely when interviewed. He clearly loves Wimbledon. But he's never had the adoration of Rafa/Federer.

tickingbird Fri 01-Jul-22 15:49:36

The British players are doing well this year. Novak dominating at present. Looking ominous for Rafa.

Cameron Norrie has won the 1st set against Steve Johnson .
Great start. Go Norrie ?

TillyTrotter Fri 01-Jul-22 19:23:57

Norrie breezed through - quite an easy win for him and he will be in the fourth round. ?

merlotgran Fri 01-Jul-22 19:34:12

There was so much focus on Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu at the beginning of the tournament it’s a joy to watch other British players doing so unexpectedly well.

Sparklefizz Fri 01-Jul-22 19:36:22

Well done Norrie!
I agree merlot - it's good to cheer on other British players.

Sweetpeasue Fri 01-Jul-22 20:01:56

Norrie can really move can't he? It will be exciting to see him again. He made that match look very easy indeed.

Venus Williams and Jamie Murray are playing outstanding doubles.

Callistemon21 Fri 01-Jul-22 20:05:30

Yes, it is, isn't it merlotgran

Katie Boulter has already come under pressure from Harmony Tan and has been broken early in the 1st set.
Keep digging deep Katie ?

Look our for Gordon Reid and Alfie Hewett in the wheelchair competitions.

I've got the tennis on mute and am singing along to the warm up DJ for the Westlife concert that is in the park next to our estate.
Just enjoyed Murray and Soares winning and turned over to Nadal. Has anyone else noticed his bald patch?

TillyTrotter Sat 02-Jul-22 19:36:23

Yes Pittcity I think Rafa’s bald patch is more noticeable this year!
Lucky you getting to hear a free concert from your home.
I am switching between Nadal’s match (which is going all his way) and the Kyrgios v Tsitsipas match which is nip and tuck.

Honeysuckleberries Sat 02-Jul-22 19:39:00

Kyrgios is being absolutely dreadful and getting away with it. For some obscure reason the crowd is on his side. I’m so annoyed, he is a cheat and an offensive little sh.t.

I'm flicking between the two too.
As it's on mute I've missed the Kyrios rants.

We've got Ball and Boe playing tomorrow and Simply Red Next month. The park hosts something every weekend in the summer.

Oh, I agree.

Usually I'd support a British player first and an Australian next but I hope he loses!

Why does BBC keep switching matches? Why have they got a repeat of an old film?
They are annoying me as much as Kyrgios!

I think I'm turning into a GOW.

Yes ?

Poor Rafa and his lack of hair.

Must say I'm enjoying the Kyrgios match. I rather like him. But I was a huge fan of a John McEnroe when he was throwing his tantrums.

We used to have characters back in the day. I think Andre Agassi was the last one.

They are both beautiful tennis players. Wouldn't like to bet on who will win though.

merlotgran Sat 02-Jul-22 20:18:51

I’m enjoying it as well. Very entertaining ?

Fleur20 Sat 02-Jul-22 20:19:27

Kyrgios has played his mind games as usual...manipulates his opponent AND the umpire... this is not how to play sport... this is gamesmanship.
Now that he is leading....it all stops... until Stephano leads and then Kyrgios falls and hurts his hip... yeah... boo hoo.... oh but its all right now!!
The tennis world needs to rein this little shit in... the behaviour of the crowd is appalling... cant believe this is Wimbledon!!

tickingbird Sat 02-Jul-22 20:21:40

Yes Rafa is losing his hair and had a hair transplant several years ago that obviously didn’t work. I suppose the Gods decided he had to have some imperfection smile

As for Kyrgios he’s basically cheating. It’s about time some action was taken against him. Not a great fan of Tsitsipas but on this occasion I think he’s being tormented and pushed to the limit. The officials really should take control.

tickingbird Sat 02-Jul-22 20:23:30

Andre Agassi was a gentleman and did not in any way behave like Kyrgios or McEnroe.
