^Goodness me, you don't need to be ashamed! Unless you're his mother maybe^.
No, I'm not his mother, thank goodness, but half my family are Australian!

deep down he just wants to be loved he's not going the right way about it is he ???

I guess not!

Actually he's had so much abuse on social media. Death threats. It's all so different in the digital age. He's self harmed.

Nick hasn't whacked a ball into the crowd. Not done a body slam, (in this match), not hit a ball into the score board either.

It appears this match is popular. BBC1 has actually stayed with the match. The crowd seem to like both participants.

I'm enjoying it. Evil Gran that I am!

Merlotgran... this is not great tennis.. this is gamesmanship and bullying..
And it is being enabled by Wimbledon officials.
Disgraceful.

Fleur20 Sat 02-Jul-22 20:37:23

Come on Stephano... ignore the brat in the corner... do not reward bad behaviour...

^As for Kyrgios he’s basically cheating. It’s about time some action was taken against him^.
I said as much earlier to DH.

I have never disliked a player, even when MacEnroe was shouting the odds he was still quite amusing.

Kyrgios is just unpleasant.
I'm ashamed.

Goodness me, you don't need to be ashamed! Unless you're his mother maybe. Quite a good article in the Guardian about him. I follow tennis all year round. He doesn't play up in all matches. But it must be a nightmare to play against him.

Callistemon21 Sat 02-Jul-22 20:35:11

Oh come on, Tsitsipas
See him off please

Luckygirl3 Sat 02-Jul-22 20:34:50

Kyrgios is simply cheating - he is rattling his opponent with his antics rather than with his tennis skill.

This is not Wimbledon - how is it that the referee does not take control and disqualify him? It is all game-playing and deeply unacceptable. It spoils the tournament if someone is allowed to get away with this. Wimbledon has always had a tradition of decency and fair play.

It is so wrong. They need to have clear policies for these circumstances. He should have received a warning the first time he was abusive to a line judge.

I am very disappointed to see this.

McEnroe was bad enough, but that seemed to be genuine loss of control - this is just gamesmanship.

merlotgran Sat 02-Jul-22 20:34:44

Great tennis though.

tickingbird Sat 02-Jul-22 20:32:58

The shame of it is is that he is so talented but his ranting and raving over nothing most of the time, is so disrespectful to his opponent. As someone else said he stops once he’s ahead. If I was connected to him and sat in his box I’d be mortified.

Callistemon21 Sat 02-Jul-22 20:30:46

I agree.

He brings shame to tennis.

Fleur20 Sat 02-Jul-22 20:28:41

I completely agree tickingbird....
This is disgraceful.. I just dont get why the Wimbledon officials are allowing this. Brings shame on the championship.

Callistemon21 Sat 02-Jul-22 20:28:09

Andre Agassi was a gentleman and did not in any way behave like Kyrgios or McEnroe
Oh, I loved Andre Agassi!

He's really going off on one now, he should be disqualified.

He's got a fiancee? ?

We used to have characters back in the day. I think Andre Agassi was the last one.

Yes Rafa is losing his hair and had a hair transplant several years ago that obviously didn’t work. I suppose the Gods decided he had to have some imperfection smile

As for Kyrgios he’s basically cheating. It’s about time some action was taken against him. Not a great fan of Tsitsipas but on this occasion I think he’s being tormented and pushed to the limit. The officials really should take control.

Fleur20 Sat 02-Jul-22 20:19:27

Kyrgios has played his mind games as usual...manipulates his opponent AND the umpire... this is not how to play sport... this is gamesmanship.
Now that he is leading....it all stops... until Stephano leads and then Kyrgios falls and hurts his hip... yeah... boo hoo.... oh but its all right now!!
The tennis world needs to rein this little shit in... the behaviour of the crowd is appalling... cant believe this is Wimbledon!!

merlotgran Sat 02-Jul-22 20:18:51

I’m enjoying it as well. Very entertaining ?

Zoejory Sat 02-Jul-22 20:17:09

Poor Rafa and his lack of hair.

Must say I'm enjoying the Kyrgios match. I rather like him. But I was a huge fan of a John McEnroe when he was throwing his tantrums.

We used to have characters back in the day. I think Andre Agassi was the last one.

They are both beautiful tennis players. Wouldn't like to bet on who will win though.

Callistemon21 Sat 02-Jul-22 20:12:08

Has anyone else noticed his bald patch?
Yes ?

Callistemon21 Sat 02-Jul-22 20:11:26

We've got Ball and Boe playing tomorrow and Simply Red Next month. The park hosts something every weekend in the summer.

Oh, lucky you!

Callistemon21 Sat 02-Jul-22 20:10:32

Honeysuckleberries

Kyrgios is being absolutely dreadful and getting away with it. For some obscure reason the crowd is on his side. I’m so annoyed, he is a cheat and an offensive little sh.t.

Oh, I agree.

Usually I'd support a British player first and an Australian next but I hope he loses!

Why does BBC keep switching matches? Why have they got a repeat of an old film?
They are annoying me as much as Kyrgios!

I think I'm turning into a GOW.

Yes Pittcity I think Rafa’s bald patch is more noticeable this year!
Lucky you getting to hear a free concert from your home.
I am switching between Nadal’s match (which is going all his way) and the Kyrgios v Tsitsipas match which is nip and tuck.

I'm flicking between the two too.
As it's on mute I've missed the Kyrios rants.

I've got the tennis on mute and am singing along to the warm up DJ for the Westlife concert that is in the park next to our estate.
Just enjoyed Murray and Soares winning and turned over to Nadal. Has anyone else noticed his bald patch?
