Love it, myself and my daughter always go to henman hill if we are not picked in the ballot. Great fun we get there at 6am we get our Wimbledon hamper and spend the day soaking up the great tennis and atmosphere.

Emma's having a tough journey.

J52 Wed 29-Jun-22 16:49:42

I’m very anxious about Emma!! I hope she can pull it off.

Zoejory Wed 29-Jun-22 16:18:06

There are lots of other channels! This is what I don't understand. It was true years ago that if you disliked tennis you were somewhat stuck but not today. Very odd.

Anyway, Emma's just started. Had a break of serve against her but early days

Grannybags Wed 29-Jun-22 16:17:44

Flicking backwards and forwards between Emma and Cam. Can’t stand the strain!!

LauraNorderr Wed 29-Jun-22 15:34:39

On both channels so that we can switch from match to match. Currently between Djokovic v Kokkinakis on BBC1 and the wonderful Cam Norris v Munar on BBC2.
It’s only for two weeks and there are lots of other channels to choose from.

I am glad a lot of you enjoy Wimbledon and wish our players all the best. I will cheer with everybody. WHY is it shown on BBC1 and BBC2 at the same time. ?

LauraNorderr Wed 29-Jun-22 14:54:23

A wonderful reunion with those special little people Lucca. Enjoy.

lilydily9 Wed 29-Jun-22 14:45:28

Was glued to the TV yesterday watching Rafa. What a match!

LovelyLady Wed 29-Jun-22 14:34:47

Not really a fan ?

I remember that really long Isner match. So tense but it made great telly! I hope they both rise to the occasion.. ?

Oh it did!

And if I remember rightly it was on an outside court and people were doing everything trying to watch it.

Could be wrong though. I often am. I'd have said it was about 5 years ago. No. 12 years!

Aww never mind Ryan, we'll see you at Wimbledon next year.

ordinarygirl Wed 29-Jun-22 14:23:17

personally I hate sport and hate why the normal TV schedule has to be changed to adapt to the sport programme. Why can't there be a sports channel which would leave the scheduled programmes alone? I don't mean you people that love sport should pay for it but please just leave us that hate sport to watch tv as per the tv guide?

Allsorts Wed 29-Jun-22 14:19:42

Glad al, you fans having such a great time, very exciting all the British players this time.

Smileless2012 Wed 29-Jun-22 14:19:28

Their record is having met 8 times and Andy has won all 8. Isner's said to have one of the biggest serves on the circuit and Andy one of the best returns.

I think you could be right about the first set Zoejory.

Lucca

I’ll catch up on iPad in bed later. Aussie family arriving today not seen GC since December 2018. Just throwing that one in ….bit irrelevant !!

Thrilled for you Lucca?
That's the last time, too, we saw our little GCs in Brisbane.
They will have grown so much!

Have a wonderful time x

Zoejory Wed 29-Jun-22 14:15:48

Andy is facing Isner. He's the guy who played in the longest match in Wimbledon history. 11 hours and 5 minutes over 3 days. The final set of course had no tie break those days so they slogged on until Isner won 70 - 68. That's when Wimbledon introduced a tie break for the final sets as well.

He's tall as well. But so is Andy .I am pretty certain that Andy will lose the first set. He seems to do that so often. Still not got a feeling as to who will win. Of course I am crossing everything for Andy

pce612 Wed 29-Jun-22 14:15:42

Hate, hate, hate it!!!!
2 weeks of non entertainment on BBC, it is time the BBC got a dedicated sports channel.

Smileless2012 Wed 29-Jun-22 14:10:17

How wonderful Lucca smile.

He'll get through in 4 sets PoppyFlower or maybe in 3 if we cheer loud enough.

PoppyFlower Wed 29-Jun-22 13:41:15

I wonder how Andy will get on today in the second round? I shall be cheering him on!! ??????

Foxyferret Wed 29-Jun-22 13:33:36

My favourite time of the year. No housework or gardening. Got some strawberries and wine and now glued to the tv. Glad Rafa won, poor Matteo, I was looking forward to seeing him again after he won Queens and he was so nice to Sue Barker. I do admire Serena and her fantastic achievements over the years but I have to confess I don’t like all the screaming and histrionics on court. I think it’s not respectful to the other player. Watching Peniston now, it’s not going too well at the moment.
