How many times are they going to show Rafa saying he’s withdrawing ?????

Callistemon21 Thu 07-Jul-22 20:05:54

fairfraise

Couldn't they change the rules and let Fritz through to play! [smile

That would be good!

Callistemon21 Thu 07-Jul-22 20:05:34

Oh, so Kyrgios gets through by default? ?
A walkover to the final.

So disappointed but Rafa's health has to come first.

TillyTrotter Thu 07-Jul-22 19:52:12

DH said the same .

Yes he cannot play on with an injury like that.
So disppointing, mostly for Rafa of course , but also for us the fans.
Your health is more important than anything.

So sorry Rafa has had to withdraw from tomorrow’s game but obviously he couldn’t go on with that injury. He looked gutted just now. At least we have Cam to look forward to watching on Friday.

What a dreary affair was the second ladies' semi-final - Simona Halep had no chance against the 6ft-plus lady with the unpronounceable name. The Jabeur/Maria match was much more interesting, but I fear that Ons will suffer the same fate as Simona ...

Watching Ram/Salisbury doubles now....great match with GB interest.

TillyTrotter Thu 07-Jul-22 08:21:30

What a great day you had Pittcity ? ?
Isn’t it odd we need to be distracted by Kyrgios’s behaviour , be it good or awful, when he is a grown man?
He should let his fine tennis skills do the talking for him. ?

We were at Wimbledon watching the Kyrios match. He was well behaved and obviously fed off of his showmanship.
It was impossible to get on to Henman Hill to watch the rest of the Nadal match, so we returned to Court One and watched invitation doubles. DD had never seen a comedy match before.

An amazing match, great tennis. I had to go out before the end, but hope we see more of Taylor Fttz.

NanKate Wed 06-Jul-22 22:06:56

I’m still in recovery mode. What a match. It’s Rafa’s mental ability that brings him success. We are privileged to still see him playing.

lixy Wed 06-Jul-22 21:00:06

Terrific match; both players deserved a standing ovation. Really hope Nadal can recover in time to give Kyrgios a lesson.

True grit and determination ???

It was brilliant. All credit to Taylor Fritz too. So glad Nadal has got through though. Yes, hope he's OK. He'll need to be for his next, for sure.

Yes, Taylor Fritz was brilliant too and, at 24?, he'll be back.

MayBee70 Wed 06-Jul-22 20:05:52

He did refer to the fact that he might not get to his next game. I only saw the last few minutes.

How did he do that .... really

He must have been in pain. Taylor Fritz was so good too.

Sparklefizz Wed 06-Jul-22 19:43:20

I don't know about Rafa having a struggle to go through it on Friday ... not sure if I can!!! Phew!

He's amazing. What grit and determination. No whining and complaining like Kyrgios. I hope he hasn't done himself a permanent injury.

Grannybags Wed 06-Jul-22 19:40:19

Hooray Rafa! Only trouble is we’ve got to go through it all again on Friday…!

Smileless2012 Wed 06-Jul-22 19:34:19

Thank goodness.

tickingbird Wed 06-Jul-22 19:34:15

He’s unbelievable but how can he take on Kyrgios now? He’s triumphed but he definitely wasn’t 100%.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 06-Jul-22 19:32:12

What a man. Just amazing.

merlotgran Wed 06-Jul-22 19:31:06

Phew!
