Please join us in conversation if you enjoy Wimbledon - it is just 2 weeks of the years and greatly enjoyed by it’s fans.

Isner makes Murray look quite small!!

We're trying to work out his reach when he jumps

Callistemon21 Wed 29-Jun-22 18:50:38

Yes, well done Cam Norrie!

Sorry about Emma - I wonder if she will decide to continue or go back to her studies? Either way, she's brilliant.

I hate these players that get aces all the time. Never liked Sampras for that reason. Makes for very boring tennis. One of the reasons why I always want Andy to do well is that it was such a Herculean effort to win that second gold medal. He didn’t have to represent the country to do it and I often think the reason he has physical problems is he pushed himself so hard back then.

Oh, I can remember the thrill of getting an ace!
Not often and not at Wimbledon either.

Andy - great ace!

MayBee70 Wed 29-Jun-22 19:19:45

I don’t mind when Andy does it!

Smileless2012 Wed 29-Jun-22 19:35:52

Andy's trying so hard, I just want to give him a hug.

Fudgemonkey Wed 29-Jun-22 19:41:56

That match of Williams v Tan, so glad Tan won! Soz

Fudgemonkey Wed 29-Jun-22 19:43:26

Murry putting us all through the wringer as he's lost the 1st and 2nd set. Dare I say he's not as fit, or young, so can't keep up with the younger players ?

TillyTrotter Wed 29-Jun-22 19:53:51

Andy Murray is 2 years younger than John Isner Fudgemonkey.

Nanny27 Wed 29-Jun-22 20:00:36

Only just switched on the Murray match. Crowd is exceptionally noisy! Quite distracting I think

Nanny27 Wed 29-Jun-22 20:04:22

Apparently Andy likes a loud crowd. Not good when they are cheering errors though

Millie22 Wed 29-Jun-22 20:06:34

John Isner is really getting on my nerves. He is playing too well ?

Come on Andy!

PoppyFlower Wed 29-Jun-22 20:06:37

Isner's serve is sapping the energy out of the game! Andy can't get a firm enough foothold. But he's not giving up!

Zoejory Wed 29-Jun-22 20:16:22

Isner has a colossal serve. Apparently he had 54 aces in his first round match. He's set to break the record of most aces in career. He's powered over 13 thousand.

It must be disheartening to play him. But he's never won a slam which is interesting.

MayBee70 Wed 29-Jun-22 20:28:10

I was wondering how people do get to beat him. All I can think is that, being such a big-man, if you can play into a third set his stamina runs out. If every tennis player just played like that would people bother going to matches? To be fair, he does play some good shots away from his serve.

MayBee70 Wed 29-Jun-22 20:28:45

Woohoo! Trouble is I need to take the dog for a walk…

Sweetpeasue Wed 29-Jun-22 20:29:39

Oh Wow! Phew. Andy's still in.

Sweetpeasue Wed 29-Jun-22 20:30:22

Don't MayBee70 !

Zoejory Wed 29-Jun-22 20:30:52

Well done ? Brilliant.

Smileless2012 Wed 29-Jun-22 20:31:33

OMG not sure my nerves are going to be able to take this.

PoppyFlower Wed 29-Jun-22 20:33:41

Yes, I agree Isner isn't bad doing rallies, I remember some good rallies in that 6.5 hour epic match. Maybe his stamina doesn't last in rallies now... Talking of stamina or lack of, I may have to switch over to the Repair Shop for some respite!!

Grannybags Wed 29-Jun-22 20:34:39

My heart is racing!

LauraNorderr Wed 29-Jun-22 21:22:01

Just as well Sewing Bee is betting recorded.

LauraNorderr Wed 29-Jun-22 21:28:12

Wow, cheerio to Andy… for now
