Closing ceremony

I have decided that with the French, it is all about posing in elaborate costumes with little action.

It’s the same as the opening ceremony.

Yep, after seeing the excitement on the remaining athletes faces and thinking what a great expereince it must have been, we have something almost as tedious as the opening ceremony but without the rain...

Oooh looks as if something exciting might be coming.

The Marathon medal ceremony made for a nice highlight- as did a bit of Freddie.

OH is watching it with headphones on. I did my ironing and now I’m about to read the paper.

I was talking to my son this afternoon who has just come back from Paris, and he told me how he was sat next to one of the athletes fathers. He was telling my son the work and sacrifice, the pressure both physical and mental - and they are very young.

I think it's for all those who took part rather than for the audience. Whether they won a medal or not, they've earned their moment haven't they.
