Fulham for me here in Lancashire

Ziggy62 Wed 03-Sept-25 18:04:05

Leeds, even though he hates the English

M0nica Wed 03-Sept-25 18:05:46

Absolutely no idea. I do not think he is interested in football, anymore than we are.

Galaxy Wed 03-Sept-25 18:14:24

Newcastle.
We are Sunderland.

Liverpool the same as us. The neighbour on the other side likes cricket.

Same one we do - he's got good taste! grin

Georgesgran Wed 03-Sept-25 19:26:06

Sunderland - he used to play for them, but we’re Newcastle United.

Why should I or you be interested in my next door neighbour?
Why assume they support any football team either?

Norwich on one side, Manchester United on the other, both loyal to their respective home towns.
This is more of a rugby and rowing town but football is still the topic of ‘bins day’ chats.

NotAGran55 Wed 03-Sept-25 20:13:49

Wrexham, his home town.

BlueBelle Wed 03-Sept-25 20:13:56

No idea why would I ? I know they like my runner beans though

Grannybags Wed 03-Sept-25 20:14:51

Interesting times for you Georgesgran and Galaxy now Sunderland are back in the Premier League!

Newcastle for me but no idea about my neighbour

NotAGran55 Wed 03-Sept-25 20:30:13

My dad supported Newcastle, his nearly home town, and my brother when he was a boy chose to support Sunderland, 300 miles from his home town, just to be cantankerous 🤣

Greenfinch Wed 03-Sept-25 20:33:32

No idea. It never comes up in conversation.

Galaxy Wed 03-Sept-25 21:04:30

I will confess that my support for Sunderland stems from the crush I had on a Sunderland player who lived next to me when I was a teenager.

rafichagran Wed 03-Sept-25 21:10:46

I can't say I know either. I do know he is very loud and exitable when England are playing.

My one neighbour is a 97 year old widow. I don't think she's into football! The other side are a young Muslim couple. I don't think they like football.

You don't have to comment on on a thread if you find the subject stupid, same as the Christmas thread, just move on to another thread you find more interesting

Ziggy62 Wed 03-Sept-25 21:46:01

My cousin lives in Sunderland and is a mad Sunderland supporter as is the rest of the family, her partner supports Newcastle lol. Personally I prefer rugby. Sorry slightly off topic .

RosieandherMaw Wed 03-Sept-25 21:47:30

It is however permitted to have an opinion about the subject or the logic of question.
Mine is 1) why assume everybody supports a football team 2) ask me by all means but 3) where do any of my neighbours come into it?

Newatthis Wed 03-Sept-25 21:51:14

I am from Liverpool and don't like football so don't support anyone. There is so much competition between the supporters of the two home teams, Liverpool and Everton, that I am glad I don't support either. The first question I am asked is 'who do you support?' In Liverpool you don't even have to state what your talking about, when I say I don't like football, then I am looked at as if I have two heads!

NotSpaghetti Wed 03-Sept-25 21:54:35

It wouldn't occur to me to ask!
grin
