I dont blame you for going to bed.
I would have needed to, if I hadnt had any sleep beforehand.

I was struggling at the beginning of the match, but it was so very engrossing, i seemed to get my second wind.

A brilliant result, it really was fantastic. We didn't watch it as it was put back to an even later start time. I saw the highlights earlier and England thoroughly deserved the win.

Because of the later start I went to bed, couldn't sleep so watched until just after half-time and went to bed. I got up before 8 am and saw the remainder of a fantastic match. The best football England has ever played despite the loud hostility from Mexico. The referee was useless and unfair but our team won and play Portugal next.

We play Norway next. This Saturday. 10pm our time.

Best Birthday present I could have, I watched it at 6am but what a match it was thrilling from start to finish. Those boys played their hearts out for England they must be so proud and exhausted.⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 onwards and upwards.

I’m not at all a footie fan in general, but as so often was awake at around 3 am so did put the bedroom TV on for once, to see (IIRC) a score of 2:1 to us.
TBH given the altitude issue, I was expecting to see something like 3:0 to them!
Heard the final score via R4 at 6.30 ish - 👏👏! 😁 - and went back to sleep.

I wish one of the quarter finals had been Mbappe v Haaland. I’m a huge fan of Haaland, too.

So we have Spain and France meeting for the semis. I'm still sticking to my prediction at the beginning of this thread.
