Has anyone out there tried clarins beauty flash balm ? Any good ?

nanachrissy Wed 01-Feb-12 15:07:57

Yes, I used it years ago whenever I went to a dinner dance (usually a very long night!) It tightens the skin slightly and stops your face from "sagging" towards the end of the evening.
Sounds horrendous doesn't it? grin But it did seem to help. hmm

It's great for a quick boost to the skin, it makes you glow.

Use it if going out in the evening. It seems to give the skin a bit of a 'lift' and stops me looking tired. Got some as a free gift and as I rarely go out in the evenings its lasted for quite a while, but when I finish it I will probably invest in some more.

Love it!

Its wonderful and their is a flash balm for eyes too. I have just switched from years of Liz Earle to Clarins as my skin has become a lot drier this winter and also on a low fat diet which i think might be contributing. Their orchid oil at night is wonderful a few days of that has restored my peachinesssmile

That's interesting susiecb I am a total Liz Earle convert of many years but like you am finding my skin much drier these days. It feels disloyal to contemplate another brand but maybe I need to rethink.

I am very lucky that my sister and daughter have bought me loads of Clarins for my birthday (all wrapped up so I cant see it yet) but I will post reviews on this site as I try things out. the Alpine herb cleaner is very good, nourishing as well as cleansing and I don't feel tight and dry afterwards. the toner is lovely and doesn't leave me dry either.

I have been using Clarins for years, the flash balm is great and gives your face a lovely healthy glow.

nightowl Fri 03-Feb-12 15:24:31

I have often wondered about the flash balm and am keen to give it a try after reading these reviews. The only Clarins product I have ever tried is the handcream which is probably the best I have ever used. I have also tried Liz Earle products but they are not rich enough for my now dry skin. I love Dermalogica, especially Dermalogica intensive moisture balance which is fantastic but I am tempted to diversify now...

I just love Clarins products and just wish they weren't quite so pricey - well, my daughter loves them too as presents! I'll certainly try out the flash balm as my skin is rather more wrinkly than usual in this weather!

mrshat Fri 03-Feb-12 17:12:38

Love it! Altho' I used Clarins for years I am now a devotee of Liz Earle. However, I happily mix and match and use Clarins flash balm for 'occasions' or if I go out in the evenings. Hard to beat Liz Earles superskin moisturiser for mature skin! smile

susiecb it is all your fault (plus that I needed a bit of spoiling via retail therapy as DH is still in hospital) - I popped into John Lewis and Clarins are doing a "gift with purchase" of 4 good sizes of various products. So I bought the blue orchid oil, which was not too extortionate but needed a second item so I got a night cream to get my "freebies" - bill?? £96 !!!smile

jeni Fri 03-Feb-12 20:54:38

Wow!

Annobel Fri 03-Feb-12 21:02:25

Sorry to hear your OH is still in hospital gracesmum. I hope he doesn't have a relapse when (if) he hears about your expenditure.

bagitha Fri 03-Feb-12 21:12:49

What are the ingredients of this flash balm? Does it have perfume in it?

gracesmum Fri 03-Feb-12 21:33:48

I'm not telling grin - there are times when you need a little retail therapy and this is my sort of pampering!
I think Flash Balm could possibly irritate a sensitive skin but you could try a bit at a Clarins counter and see if you react to it.

MaggieP Fri 03-Feb-12 21:56:30

I use Flash Balm, and have done for several years, it's excellent, soaks into your shin and feels wonderful. No irritation to sensitive skin, I have one.
Incidentally I find Boots No 7 Intense Serum, brilliant too and much cheaper. My dry skin is a thing of the past (hopefully!)

MaggieP Fri 03-Feb-12 21:58:02

Sorry spelling mistake, I meant Skin! There would never be enough for shins!

gracesmum Fri 03-Feb-12 23:25:14

grin I reckon it would soak into your shin as well!!

Flash balm must be one of the best products on the market for keeping you looking good when on a late night or a special evening out,I use Liz Earl for daily use and find it lasts ages,I got a fab offer at Christmas of Liz Earl products from one of the daily papers worth over £60.00 just had to save codes for 8weeks but hey-ho it was worth it,all the free gifts where full size and face cleansing products and moisturiser that I use.smile

I won"t be around for a fortnight as I am off for a little winter sun tomorrow with my DH see I am gradually getting it anyway, enjoy, enjoy what ever you will be doing in the next fortnight

I slathered lots of expensive goo on my face last night and it smelled gorgeous. I don't now if it is just coincidence, but I slept better than ever and my skin felt smooth and plumped when I woke up.
The rest of my body also felt very plumped but I blame the cold weather for that necessitating the consumption of whisky and also chocolate grin
