I also really liked Fidji and also White Linen by Estee Lauder.
Aqua Manda was one of my everyday perfumes. I can see the bottle in my mind now. Apparently it is being re-introduced according to something I read in a magazine.

Thanks Harrigran Picot used natural ingredients, which is not to say that something recreated chemically wouldn't be OK, but I would want to test it first.

Pagan on Amazon says in the blurb "perfume developed in 1997" the original has not been seen since the 60s.

dustyangel I had forgotten suede, I used to buy them all and feel very sophisticated because they were 'real' perfume.

Just looked on Ebay and am amazed to find a bottle of Fleurs Du Monde costing £69! Apparently it's very rare now. I'm sure it was cheap as chips back then.

My daughter used to tell me how the smell of Estée brought back memories of being snuggled into my neck when she was little. My mum's favourite perfume was Avon's To a Wild Rose. I had a passion for Fleurs du Monde back in the eighties - only a cheap everyday perfume but I loved it.

If Revlon revived Aquamarine, I'd have some like a shot!

I have a bottle of Blue Grass eau de parfum which I think came from Ebay. It's always worth searching for an old favourite.

In brown bottles. Smelling of oranges!

I read somewhere that Aqua Manda perfume is being reintroduced. Remember that one? It was terribly strong, I think...

Oh Fidji, yes. I loved that too. Aren't perfumes evocative.

Je Reviens, Ma Griffe, Madame Rochas, and Cinnabar from Estée Lauder for full-on ball dress events. I haven't worn any of those for years - you've taken me right back.

I too loved the Picot perfumes, wish we could still get them.

Alternativegran I used to love Suede by Picot, I'd forgotten Le Train Blue and Pagan. Suede I really loved and was so disappointed when it disappeared from the shelves, long, long before being able to look for things on the internet.
Now I like Mystere by Rochas and it's getting harder and harder to get.

When I was young I used to buy tiny bottles of perfume by Picot. I remember Le train blue and Pagan. I have searched for them but sadly with no result

Blue grass on Amazon, appears to be a lot cheaper than it used to be.

I have some Blue Grass. I think I found it on Ebay. You can find quite a lot of scents there that you would find with great difficulty in shops.

I used to like Kiku in the '70s until my DD tipped a whole bottle of it over the bed.

I used to love Manhatten which was in a tall oblong bottle. I saw it in a Museum recently and the smell just came back to me. Can anyone else remember it ?

Another vote for Chanel 5 here. Je Reviens was my mother's favourite. I thought it smelled like catspee though. I love Blue Grass but can't find any.

Is it me, or are perfumes less strong than they used to be?

Thank you, Goose, I'll try Karma. DH always says patchouli smells like a Turkish brothel, not that he's ever been to Turkey (or to a brothel as far as I know). The Sunday Telegraph's Stella mag usually mentions a new 'scent', sometimes I try them at Fenwick. Today it is the first scent by Reiss, called Grey Flower - a bit of a 'granny' name!! I have some Youth Dew somewhere.

I guess a big problem is that the same perfume does smell different on each person, so it would have to be quite a strong perfume to identify it on someone else.
