I'm more than capable of dealing with pervy pms, but why should I have to? It's no-one's business, and I share Elegran's view. I cringe when strange new names appear on threads where sexual issues are discussed, because it's obvious that prurience has motivated them to post.

Bags I think hedgehoggy is an apt term. Pubic hair helps to reduce friction in a delicate area. Without it, surely there is more risk of chafing etc.
And surely removing it must lead to nasty uncomfortable regrowth and stubble?
It is true that men too are under pressure to remove body hair.
I was entertained, a few years ago, by an Apprentice participant announcing in surprise, "Doesn't everyone shave their balls?!"
Also by an ad in a gym which was advertising three different types of razors for the well groomed attractive man:
For the boardroom i.e. chin
For the changing room i.e. chest
and for the bedroom .... cue imagination folks.
Just how silly is this?
But fashions in this regard have varied through the ages I suppose. In some historic times it was more hygienic for men to shave groins as discouraged the spread of pubic lice.
I don't think the existence of weirdos on the internet should constrain discussion on intimate subjects. And as I have said before, if male members want to have a discussion about their male members then that is their choice. ALso we all have a choice about the degree of anonymity we observe on GN. I don't really.

Why is it prurient? Both women and men seem to feel a need now to remove all body hair, no matter how intimate and it does have overtones that are worrying, especially for women.

The fashion for women removing all pubic hair started in the porn industry with female porn stars doing it to provide more graphic photos. Why should normal women want to copy this? Is it because more men watching more porn with women looking like this began to be uncomfortable when faced with the realities of the female body? How far is it an attempt to recreate the prepubescent body, which again ties in to a deeply immoral form of pornography.

I certainly have no intention of discussing my pubic area on any public or private forum, as a number people have said this is a private and personal issue but what is interesting is why anyone thinks this is the right forum for such a discussion or that any of us would discuss such private personal matters online.

I think it's more about why women feel they need to 'improve' themselves by removing hair. It's about why so many people think female body hair shouldn't be there if they are to be 'attractive'. It's a sad subject because now twelve year old girls think having hardly visible hairs on their forearms is "unfeminine". They forget, if they ever knew, that they are feminine by genetic definition, not by body hair.

I'm sure this has been discussed before and I have no interest in anyone else's intimate habits! Why should I? Prurience?

If you 'trim' (I presume that means shave) your "lady garden", won't the effect sometimes be a bit... well... hedgehoggy?

I like to swim too absent, so shave my legs as far as necessary to include the bikini line. My pubes and leg hair are still as dark and thick as ever, don't know where one stops and the other begins!
I have recently bought a 'boyleg' swimsuit which has shorts-like legs, a bit more flattering for the baggy thighs and hides any strays!

Who cares what the norm is? Being too interested has a touch of "If you show me yours I'll show you mine"

I don't know if this subject has been discussed before, but I hope it is not discussed again! Why would anyone want to know such intimate details about a stranger's hygiene? Particularly on a mixed-sex forum. It made me feel embarrassed.
