To coincide with the exciting new launch of No7 Restore & Renew Day & Night Serum for 60+ skin, we're having a Q&A on skincare and beauty with two experts from Boots; Skincare Scientific Advisor Dr Mike Bell and No7 Beauty Advisor Geraldine Freer.

Dr Mike Bell is an expert in his field setting up research programmes and leading a team of experts to develop the No7 anti-ageing skincare products ensuring they "do what they say on the tin".

No7 Beauty Advisor Geraldine has been with Boots for over for 12 years and as a brand ambassador, she demonstrates the products and offers advice to customers, showing them why No7 is the UK's number one beauty brand.

Add your skincare questions – anything from ageing to application - by Friday 11 October. We will be publishing replies from Mike and Geraldine the following week.

Whilst I have used No7 for a few years now I have not as yet tried the new Lift & Luminate range but will make it my business to do so,are these products suitable for the decolletage area also ? as the area is often an area which can give you problems as your age progresses.

Hi Guys,
I would really like some advice about taming Rosacea.
Have suffered for some years now. Going to be
Mother of the groom next year and the thought
of my crimson cheeks in the pics is frightening.
Must be No7,

My wrinkles are exaggerated by the presence of former acne scars (from fifty years ago). Short of Polyfilla, what would you suggest to make my skin look smoother?

ninathenana Sat 05-Oct-13 15:31:20

I have always had a problem with open pores and blackheads on my nose. However, this is the only area where I suffer from peeling.
I cleans every day and use a non oily moisturizer.
Help please.

What evidence is there that any creams, lotions, serums, etc have more than a short term moisturising effect? hmm

Galen Sat 05-Oct-13 16:35:33

Short of surgery, does anything work on eyes that look more than my 69 years?

MiceElf Sat 05-Oct-13 16:56:08

My face is ok. But I'd really like something which would disguise the less than sharp jawline and the less than smooth neck.

A Burka, niqab, Elizabethan ruff, a wimple????

I have open pores around my mouth and chin, then to add insult to injury my mouth is disappearing into deep wrinkles on my top lip and corners of my lips such an attractive look!! Fabulous, so anything that stops The Lord Charles on speed look would be helpful.

Know how to prevent sagging?
Just eat till the wrinkles fill out.

I have face problems with flat skin growths on the bridge of my nose and above top lip. Also hard little whiteheads over forehead. Also little skin coloured soft growths on front of neck. I have some success in applying wart remover gel but not on the whiteheads.

grin aka not cynical of course!! My mum used to say you could choose between your bum and your face! She had lovely skin but I'll say no more!

Petrapan - the little whiteheads are called melia or milia and I get them zapped at the local beauty salon and they disappear completely.

Are there any creams that are safe for older skin that target and fade age spots, small scars and reduce the appearance of broken veins, that actually make a noticeable difference? Also, what's the best way to disguise such blemishes without using heavy make-up?

cangran Thu 10-Oct-13 17:55:48

Another question! Are there any mascaras that give a natural, lengthening look, without running and making smudges below the eyes (not a good look!)? I am 67, have fair skin, faded blonde hair, blue eyes - what colour mascara would look best?

kiligran Thu 10-Oct-13 19:39:24

I bought the Renew & Restore day and night serum when it first came out. I had to stop using it because it made my skin red and tingle. Why would this be. It's never happened before.

nanaval Fri 11-Oct-13 15:00:17

cangran. Boots number 7 do a fantastic mascara that doesn't run or smudge; stays put in all weather, hot cold wet humid etc. At the end of the day just wash it off with soap and water, no special removing cream needed. I have a watery eye and need something waterproof and this really is "everything proof"! Look for "Stay Perfect" mascara. I can't advise re colour though.

I am now 50 yrs old and liquid foundation just looks terrible on my skin it makes me look over-made up and very blotchy, what other foundation can i used to give me a younger fresher look to my skin ???

cangran Sat 12-Oct-13 16:42:03

Thank you so much nanaval. Funny, but I had looked at ratings on the Boots site and had already saved the Stay Perfect mascara (just hesitated to buy as is quite pricey - but if it stays put, it's worth it!)

glassortwo Sat 12-Oct-13 22:40:22

I need a foundation that looks even in colour and a perfect finish.... without looking like a mask, what do you suggest, I am quite fair skinned, brown hair and blue eyes.

glassortwo Sat 12-Oct-13 22:41:17

cangran no 7 mascara is the best on the market.

Angwan: I know what you mean. Have you tried primer? I either use a light foundation over primer or some powder-based foundation over Nanoblur. Doesn't' settle into the cracks as badly!

I have a question... How do I disguise the bags under my eyes?
